Honestly I don't think Gettleman is sold on Cam. I know he isnt sold on Rivera. If Gettleman was sold on Cam he would have extended Cam already.

If the Panthers came to Cam Newton today with a 5 year deal he wouldn't sign it. You can say what you want about Cam but he wants to win. That's probably his biggest flaw is wanting it so badly. When things aren't going great around him he gets himself into trouble by trying to do everything on his own.

The only thing we can fault Cam for is not being able to carry this team by himself. He might be good enough to do that one day but right now he is a guy that needs players to step up around him.

I saw Cam put together a Warhol on Arizona's defense on that first drive. It was beautiful perfection. 6/6 and a touchdown if Steve doesn't drop the ball. Then what happened? More drops by Smith, Lafell, and Barner.

Cam lost faith in his teammates. Oline breaking down, dropped passes, guys not getting open. Cam holds the ball because after the drops he wants to make sure he puts it in there perfect for his guy to make an easy catch. He starts thinking and not reacting.

Cam isn't holding this team back that's clear. We can win with Cam Newton, but 10 other men have to do their jobs as well or I don't care who you bring in here.
