Cam sure picked the wrong time to have a bad quarter. That last quarter was brutal alright. But ONE bad quarter does not come near to defining his career.

Chalk Cam's career up to WTF? That is what has defined him. Poor kid. I was hoping for more for him.

That Cards game got me thinking. What is the one common denominator in Cam's career, and that Cards game? WTF?. What the hellz is going on around here? How does this stuff happen? Did that really just happen? Who'd a thunk something like that could really happen?................Why does all this stuff keep happening?

I've been a Lions fan for too damm long. And this stuff is getting eerily familiar. I do not wish that on Cam, or even you guys.

So the question becomes. Does anyone have an idea on how to rid this franchise of the WTF? curse? Cuz until its gone. Things will never improve.

The thing is that Cam really needs to think about his development before he signs an extension. He should see concrete moves by the organization aimed at helping him achieve the greatness he wants to achieve. Not him alone, also Luke and the other stars on the team. He would get an idea about that based on the coaching staff he is surrounded with as well as players that are drafted.

Point is that Cam is a uniquely terrible quarterback in crunch time. He's always been like this. You don't just magically get out of this. He either needs some serious time with a sports psychologist or we need to accept we'll never make the playoffs with him.

 

I'm not sure he needs a shrink, but he definitely needs to grow up.  His 4th quarter problems are because he gets frustrated and/ or presses.  His demeanor sucks.  His teammates notice that.  Doesn't inspire confidence.  I hope he can get better but since he doesn't get it by now I'm afraid he never will.

Did you know that if you only count Cam Newton's worst 4th quarters in his 36 game career, average them out, and compare them to Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees' best 4th quarters in their entire career, that Cam Newton looks like a rank amateur compared to Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees?

I ain't gonna lie. Things are a fixin' to get interesting around here. Lots of big time decisions are coming up. Gettlemen is about to show his meddle. He can cement his name in as GOAT if he can get us through this mess and out the end in a timely manner. Or he can screw some things up, and we remain oh so close but no cigar.

Too bad too. I really liked Rivera. I like everything about him. Well, everything but that pesky won-loss record thingy. His team plays hard, and fights til the end. His player love him. His GM has upgraded some positions, but not all. And he has a QB that can keep him in most games.

Yet he can't seem to win games. Ultimately, that will define him and his time here. Damm man, I really thought we had em' that time.

We moved the ball well for 3 quarters. 400 yards of Offense. Yet we only scored 6 points. How does that happen? It baffles the mind when you think about it. WTF? is going on around here?

Personally, I blame the Football Gods. They are still mad because we didn't beat bilicheat. They cursed us to WTF?dom until further notice. Do this, nope not this time. Try this, not gonna happen. Well, what if we do this? Oh, ok, we'll let you have one.

Hopefully, Gettlemen is the chosen One. The One to lead us out of the darkness and into the light. We have a young team, all it needs is to learn to win. Find a coach that can bring that. He very well could be successful right out of the gate.

Hopefully our next coach will bring a winning attitude with him and somehow break the curse. Because whenever this franchise learns to quite shooting themselves in the foot. Things just may improve.

Sorry for the rant. Once I got started, I just coun't stop. Sounds eerily like my love life. Ah hellz, who am I kidding. After over 20years of marriage. I am just glad to have a love life.

I still blame coaching.  Poor coaching is largely what has put Cam in a position to have those kinds of stats.  One common denominator I see is Cam getting sacked on late drives.  So many of those pathetic drives end with Cam getting thrown to the dirt.

 

It's a shame that D-Lo fumbled because for just a few moments it looked like we were going to close that one out.  Things sure would be looking different if even one of those losses had instead been a win.  We wouldn't even be having this thread.

 

Perspective is a bitch...but we all need some right now.  We are going nowhere with this coaching staff.  I'm not thinking Cam will really want to play here much longer.  He is a great player with a few nagging concerns.  His 4th quarter stats from his whole career are probably on par with what he is showing this season.  RR and Shula are the constants in all of this.  They are not helping Cam take his game to the next level.

Bullshit post. Absolute bullshit. How dare you even suggest that coaching is the problem here. It's Cam (or Scam). That's where it starts and that's where it ends. This organization has given Scam everything he needs to succeed as a NFL QB. Five all-pros on the offensive line. Hall of fame WRs, and an all-world coaching staff. The cold hard truth is that Scam sucks. Period. Scam needs to be traded for a conditional 10th round draft choice in 2020 ASAP! Throwing out 4th quarter stats is irrelevant, especially considering Scam sucks for ALL 4 quarters, the pre-game AND the post game. Scam is just like a hemorrhoid. He swells, sometimes bleeds and always itches. The only way to get rid of that bitch is to cut him off. So fug Scam, get rid of that roid, and sign Rivera and his entire coaching staff to a ten year contract extension.
