Jesus, HOW QUICK you people forget that the man inherited a HORRIBLE salary cap situation, was able to rework SEVERAL contracts to get cap space and still found a way to sign a lot more FA's then ANYONE would have thought possible.

Im not a fan or a hater, but considering the circumstances in which DG was thrown into he has done quite well.

Don't forget he probably had RR telling him every day he could win with this team and they were right on the breaking point. Being  DG was going to have to give RR this year regardless, he was probably thinking PROVE IT.

I think the man has done a commendable job considering what he took over.

If you actually look at some of those restructures, we just pushed a lot of it back to later years to drop our cap hit this year. There's really no excuse for our disaster of an offensive line. Again, I'm not saying Gettleman is entirely at fault, but he is not free of blame here.

Cap?  Dont forget:

The Panthers (1-2) will have to absorb $8 million in dead money against the salary cap.

Question 1.12

What happens if a player is traded or retires?

Answer: We already know that if a player is waived on or before June 1, the remaining signing bonus that has not been included in salary “accelerates” and is included in that year’s team salary. Acceleration also occurs when a player is traded or waived and picked up by another team. The new team is not responsible for any of the original signing bonus. The team that waived or traded the player is responsible for the accelerated signing bonus (in the same manner as described above). - http://www.askthecommish.com/SalaryCap/Faq.aspx

And I think most of us are saying you have set WAY too high expectations for a guy who inherited a big ole pile of CRAP as a GM...

just cause you go out and spend money or sign high profile FA's doesn't = wins....... See cowgirls

Or Matt Millen in Detroit...

Patience is hard to discover... Suggest you start trying. This team will continue to get better, but it will take time.

Again. I guess I'm going to have to spell this out for you like I did the other guy.

Nobody is saying to sign all the top FA's. You can sign quality players to your team without handing them record contracts.

Example? Ted Ginn Jr.

I'm not going to take lessons on intelligence from a guy with NCstoner420 as his username. Keep the insults.

People can sit around and hope that Gettleman is ultimately in charge, but he isn't. JR is, truth hurts.

Of course Gettleman isn't in charge. JR is the owner. Not Gettleman. But there is such a thing as delegation, whereby the owner allows the GM to do what he thinks is best for the football side of the franchise...

Barner was done bc we need to part with double trouble

Klein was done bc of Beason and Davis being so fragile

Everything DG has done has been about setting up for 2014. Been saying it....

If he wanted us to win now with RR....he would have fixed our OL (which would have given our O a shot at being consistent). He didn't and wasn't going to waste resources on a O he would soon scrap.

Double down on DT was to build a NY D.

Not really interested in your reasonable and insightful/intelligent posts
