My guess as to why this wasnt done before the season is Ron talked Gman into putting him on the roster, but Gman sees that was a mistake. Long overdue if you ask me.

The more I think about Armani getting cut, besides the fact that he is not a great WR, Gettleman may want his guy (Hixon) to get on the field more and may be forcing Rivera's hand...thoughts?

Hixon's already played. He just hasn't been targeted. And honestly, he was already ahead of Armanti on the depth chart.

I don't believe it had as much (if anything) to do with Hixon's playing time as it did with Armanti just not being an NFL quality receiver.
