The Thing People are Forgetting About Cam vs Other Young QBs...

and some who stayed around and suppressed their cam-hate until there were more who showed up and it was safe to do so.

i have a feeling they'll run back into hiding before too long because cam will produce again, inspite of the obstacles that rivera and shula put in his way.

it's just a shame that we won't have enough wins to go very far this year, but that's not on cam. QBs don't win games. teams do that.

Saddest thing right now is that not only have we basically wasted Cam's first three seasons with this dollar store incompetent coaching staff, we've wasted Steve Smith's last three seasons too. I don't see Smitty sticking around for a new staff next season. Quite sad.

Oh you poor persecuted soul. Why doesn't everyone just blindly agree with your opinions? What jerks, right?

I think you have it backwards there...Red.  It is the opinion of the lovers of Cam that screams bloody murder when one cross word is said about him.  But whatever helps you sleep at night I guess

You are absolutely right, but good QB find ways to make mediocre teams win, sometimes even bad teams win.  The most important position on a football field is the QB if that position is not improving then the "team" will not improve.

For example, our defense, we have a decent, I would say, defense this year.  We still have a great RB, a great WR, a great TE, etc in other words we still have some great Offensive talent on this team but some some reason our Offense is one of the worst in the league, further down the list, statistically, than some teams that have far less talent than we do on our roster.  Why is that?  Are you going to blame it all on coaching or are you going to put some of it on the players themselves?  ALL of the players, starting with the leader

It's funny how people that post these "criticisms" of him paint themselves as just harmless realists merely wanting to offer their unbiased honest opinions, and that anyone who does not agree is either a "nut hugger" or a "cam lover" and simply out to harshly silence their views.

Like I said, you poor soul.

Well bless your little heart, you have it all figured out.  One day, I will get there too

a great WR, a great TE, etc

We have an aging and soon to be retiring Steve Smith, and Greg Olsen. We picked up Ted Ginn, who is outperforming Lafell.

So, three receiving weapons?

Let's talk about those drops we've seen so far this year too. Ted fuging Ginn is the only one with sure hands.

not once have i said the players, even cam, are immune from criticsm. same with most in here.

sorry that doesn't fit with your narrative.

and btw, mr scot converted, and by that i mean grew to appreciate cam and see not only his potential but his talents and that he was a good choice for QB. he became a fan.

i don't expect that to be the case with cowardly pinheads who go into hiding instead of admit they might be wrong.

btw, i don't want you to get the wrong idea aboht why i won't be paying much attention to you other than to make sure you aren't too much of a troll. i won't be responding to you because, quite frankly, you just aren't worththe effort.

I think if you go back and read my previous post before my "disappearance" and being a "cowardly pinhead" you will see that I have no issues with admitting I'm wrong or eating crow, which you should be able to do seeing as how you are a moderator now

BTW, my how things must have changed around here the last 2 years for you to be a moderator.

Also, I never said Cam didn't have talent, I think he can make a serviceable QB, and lets face it, we are stuck with him, but I was being honest...NO he has not improved at all.  Blame it on what you want to blame it on but anyone that says he is better today then he was when he first come in the league is delusional.  I simply answered the question that was ask by someone else since everyone wanted to jump down his throat without even trying to answer it.

Makes sense. So next year is his real rookie season, since he is really a senior in college. Btw I am a Cam supporter which is a nut hugger according to some on here.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

i think this thread, or that someone felt it necessary to point this out is sad, but laughable.  he had one bad game, one bad half, but people are so insecure they think the folks who were hiding and come out after the bad game half are going to run him off or something.

The players around him have nothing to do with his footwork not getting better and his accuracy being all over the place.

Also has nothing to do with him not going through his progressions.

Of course it does. WRs not getting separation/open, and linemen not maintaining their blocks long enough are going to affect his performance. He's either going to force plays or hesitate, like we saw on sunday. This is football 101.

Like Eli Manning (0-5)?

And Ben Roethlisberger (0-4)?

And Philip Rivers (2-3)?

And RG3 (1-3)?

And Matt Ryan (1-4)?

Or is there some reason they don't count?

LOL!

That's what delusion looks like folks...

Yea because:

Peyton Manning

Michael Vick

Carson Palmer

Eli Manning

Alex Smith

Matthew Stafford

Jawalrus

Sam Bradford

didn't start as the #1 overall pick.

Carson Palmer didn't play 1 snap his rookie year, Jon Kitna did

Alex Smith didn't start his rookie year until week 4

Eli Manning didn't start until week 10

Russell didn't start until week 12

The trend, typically was to sit first pick QBs and then replace it ie those guys above plus (off the top of my head):

The Golden Calf of Bristol

Freeman

Leinart

Vince Young

Jay Cutler

and of course, Aaron Rodgers

But in my opinion the trend really started more with Matty Ryan and Flacco than with Cam, but there is no doubt that once Cam started week 1, there hasn't been a QB sit and wait since.
