Geno Smith > Cam Newton

Anyone who watches the Jets, knows that Geno Smith is awful. For everyone good play he has, they're 6 bad ones.

The Jets have no real QB at the moment, and know it. The OP is a troll

You don't have to go to that to defend Cam. Geno is a young, gifted passer who just completed his 5th game in the league. With a 3-2 record. completing 60% of his passes, with 7 TD, 8 INT, and 8 yard per completion. Refrain yourself from feeding the trolls by bashing the young guy. For the entire 2012 season Geno was projected as the #1 pick, so maybe he is actually good.

What the troll failed to mention is that the Jets have a very good Offensive Line which is probably more important than every other positions he listed. Geno and Cam don't cross path so I don't see why the OP need to make such comparison. The fanbase that should worry about Geno's performance is the Bills.

Obviously after a bye week, you want to put up more than 6 points, so I think you can expect threads like this.  What is funny is the hyper, defensive, ban him, take it away please, guys who are the Cam "minute men" and always there with another excuse.  We are 1-3 and headed toward another sub 500 season.  Defend on.

yeah, let the clowns clown on, no need to ban them..  takes away all the fun at laughing at threads like this.

totally agreed.

i hate the thread. i don't agree at all with the OP. but it is panther related. it may be dumb, but it's not breaking any rules.

i can't lock threads or ban people because i think they're stupid.

Anyone who thinks Geno > Cam....is either biased or doesn't watch football

Rookie is 3-2 while beating Falcons in their house

3 yr QB is 1-3

Most people will say QB's are good based on wins.  Smith is on an upward trajectory and we are not.

Thats how these threads are born

Well then we don't need 20+ people that refer to themselves as "mods" if we are going to just let this place run into the ground.

Talk some race stuff and the mods will be on it. Those guys are like politicians. Only certain bad is bad. Not all bad is bad. get it!

Team sport with lots of moving parts.

Geno has been a joke all season. Goes back to how people overreact to one game.....it causes silly statements.

Oh wait but I forgot - the Jets have drafted all these wonderful weapons to surround Geno and help him be successful. Oh wait.....can anyone name his wide receivers? How about his tight end? How about those expense high draft running backs he has to help him be more successful??? Does anyone even have any Jets RB in their fantasy league?

I notice how you totally left out any mention of offensive line.

Or offensive coordinator.

What convenient ommissions for you.

Funny how that particular logic never stops the opposite crowd from screaming "We'd have won for sure if we'd have gone or it, no question!"

I can't speak for everyone, but it's not whether we would have won the game for sure or not, but the fact that the right call given the circumstances seemed different from what Rivera would make often.

While I get your point...

Mark Sanchez.  The Golden Calf of Bristol.

These guys won at certain points but ultimately couldn't get it done because wins aren't just about a quarterback

or receivers dropping balls.

or RBs fumbling at just the absolute worst time.

or HC giving the other team a chance to win by giving them the ball with time left on the clock and only up a few points.

we lose because this team lacks focus. it lacks hunger. it lacks adaptability. it lacks an ability to get back on track when knocked off.

this team just has too many issues that goes beyond one player. QB's don't win games. QBs don't lose games. they can help do those things, but they need help as well.

geno didn't win those games. his team is better coached and hungrier and apparently more able to adapt to their strengths and weaknesses as well as their opponents strengths and weaknesses. his team is better prepared.

and their OL is holding up and their defense isn't letting up.

this goes way beyond just one player.

    • I would understand it--especially if DJ Johnson, Barno, and Wonnum finish strong.  Graham, however, might not be the best fit for Carolina with Brown back.  Our DTs have underperformed (Tuttle, Robinson) and they can be cut and save about $13m, or one can be cut and save $6.5m.  Who might be a better fit than Graham?   Maybe the guy beside him--Graham's sidekick, Kenneth Grant, is also a beast.  You could argue that he benefited by playing with Graham, just as he would in Carolina beside Brown.  However, teams like to double the big NT/3 tech, and if you do that, you get Browned.  Grant is a 340 lb DT who has 3 sacks this year--against Ohio State, Saturday, he had 5 QB pressures--and he has been doing that all year.  They could not block him.  If you want a player who compliments Brown (as opposed to rotating in with him) I would take a long look at Grant--in round two if he is there--after drafting an Edge in round 1.  In my view, THAT would solve the running game issues and give us pocket collapsing pressure up the A gap.  There is also a DT from Kentucky I like in this role, but Graham is good.
    • He is a free agent after this season. Do you want to pay him like a top kicker?  He can't kick much from past 50 yards.
    • I don't know how anybody watches this team this season and has this take.  We are miles better than we were week 1.    If we were slightly better he would be in serious contention for coach of the year, and he should be. My only concern right now is that we win too much and lose draft position to get even better.
