I would not mind the hiring of Lovie Smith

I was about to make a thread asking what's wrong with Gruden

Name a young quarterback he developed.

Hint: There isn't one.

Gruden only succeeded in Tampa with Brad Johnson, a guy he didn't develop. After that, it was a revolving door at QB.

Basically, he took a Super Bowl team that Tony Dungy built and ran it into mediocrity. Take a look at his coaching record and you'll see.

He's got the rep for being a QB guru essentially because ESPN says so. He never accomplished anything on the field that justifies that notion. It's pure illusion.

Every time I hear people suggest that Gruden is who Cam needs to reach his potential, I laugh out loud.

Gruden built a pretty good program at the Oakland Black Hole. I don't think they've had a winner in Oakland since he left. Rich Gannon was his QB and he wasn't that great. Actually if not for the stupid tuck rule, the Raiders would have beaten the Patriots and gone to the Super Bowl before he went to Tampa. I'm not saying Gruden is the absolute best option but I wouldn't be disappointed either.... I like him better than Lovie.

Norv Turner is known for helping QB's out and doing a good job with people named Hoyer and now Weeden.

He wouild probably not want to stay at OC for too long.

I am obviously talking about years end

I'd take Norv as an OC any day, but no thanks as a HC.

its one thing to hire a coach who took a team to a super bowl with the car keys being handed to him(seifert). its a totally dif thing to build a team into a super bowl team. thats what lovie did and if im not mistaken took the bears to 2 nfc champ games. thats good coaching.
