Amazing how more than half of the board thought our team was better with Chud leaving. He was by far and away the best OC we ever had.

you hire a guy who will work with and build around cam and who believes that he's the QB that can take this team to the next level.

 

you do it because you believe in cam and it will take less work to get the team heading the right direction to go that route.

 

you find a guy that can win with the core of this team and that requires the least amount of overhaul in personnel.

he's an argumentative prick with his players. the guy you see the last couple years isn't the guy you see with his players. the guys in tampa got tired of him.

I won't mind a defensive minded coach in all honesty. If he's aggressive and not conservative(afraid to put the game in the offensive hands), I'm totally fine with one. Just need to pair him with a good OC and better QB coaches.

and did horrible with QBs for most of his time in tampa and got outcoached regularly his last few years.

 

i was sad when tampa fired him because they had gotten easy to beat.

We HAVE to hire a guy to reach Cam's potential. Do that, and put pieces around him, and the wins come.

The Gruden mystique was entirely created after his coaching career. He says nice things about our team on MNF, and he has "Gruden's QB Camp" which gives people the impression he's a "QB guru." The fact is, though, that during his coaching career he failed to develop even a single quarterback. And if you listen to what he actually says about the team, it's way off. For example, during the second half of last year, he kept saying that it was a mistake to move away from the read option and that we needed to be running it more, oblivious to the fact that ditching it was the reason we finished 5-1.
