Frankly who cares if he is "physically gifted" with "tons of upside." I want a mature QB that is a leader, consistent, high football IQ and can pick apart defenses. Physically gifted means nothing to me when it comes to the QB position. I would take Andy Dalton over Cam and I mean that 100%. Will Andy Dalton take off for 40 plus yards and flip into the endzone? No. But hes a good leader, consistent and knows how to read defenses and hes not erratic. I still cant comprehend how a QB can look like Peyton Manning in one half of a football game then come out looking like Clausen the 2nd half is mind boggling.

It's called half time adjustments. I know being a fan of the panthers you wouldn't know much about it. Cam was ripping them apart in the first half and even tho we were only up 6-3 they knew we were only a few drops away from being up 21-3. So what did they do? The made adjustments to throw Cam off his game. Disrupt his rhythm, got in his passing lanes, sent more guys at him. What did Shula do? Run the wildcat

Basically I have been a Cam supporter even before he got here, and I am still a supporter. That being said, Cam is gonna have to tighten up. It is his third year, and I want to see some obvious progression, notwithstanding a lousy O-line (which is only as good as its weakest link).  I want to see Cam consistently go through his progressions, and make the throw to the open man. I want to see him consistently throw the ball away when warranted, and refuse to throw the ball into double or triple coverage. This may be a coaching thing, but I want to see him take off and run when the real estate is in front of him, as opposed to holding on to the ball in a shaky pocket.  The sacks don't bother me because he is such an elusive guy (ala Ben Roethlisberger), so sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. On that note I believe that Cam's elusiveness can lead to way more good than it does bad, especially considering the number of times that the line crumbles in front of him.

Give Cam better coaching that plays to his strengths---including running and the threat of running---and an O-line to keep him upright in the pocket to give him time to set his feet, I believe that he can run with the best of 'em.  We shouldn't throw him out with the bathwater, at least until we've done our due diligence to provide him with all the tools necessary to maximize his skills (like the aforementioned, as well as a crop of sure-handed game-breakers at wide-out.

That's my take, and I am sticking to it (for now).

Hahahahahaha! Andy Dalton would be BROKEN IN HALF behind the Panthers OL! Plus, he'd be without every one of those "just throw it up fir grabs and let A.J. get it" completions and TDs.

That's because you are dumb as poo.

All of Cams weapons are either average or aging.

Trading for Olsen and signing Shockey was a great one year move to get Cam some big targets. Cam Could find Legapoo Nannee even though he would drop passes but it was a concentrated effort to get players around Cam.

I think one thing you can see Cam will have a hard time with is threading pass with anticipation to small Wrs. I hate to say it but Smitty should take a more limited role with the team and hit the slot on 3WR sets. His time on the outside is nearing the end. Cam seems like he is pressured to hit Smitty too many times.

In the game against the Cardinals Cam played some of his best QB in the first half hitting eveything accurately. The offense got away from the run and stop throwing to Olsen and he seemed lost.

This team needs to give Ted Ginn a larger role as he has seemed like he can handle the routes so far. Adding larger Wrs next year with hopefully healthier hammys than Hakeem Nicks.

Ben Rothlisberger has been pleading the front office to get a big WR and they just keep drafting fast 5''10 guy who all look like Emmanual Sanders.
