i used to think Cam Newton had superstar potential. He doesn't and won't be one but he's still got the potential to be good enough to win playoff games if our D remains elite. 

 

He's definitely not the best thing to ever happen to the franchise. Thats stupid.

I don't think we know what Cam's ceiling is. Swiss cheese line, poor receiving core, and a OC that has all the ability of a paper sack.

I'd really love to see what he could do if all that was fixed. Chances are we won't ever see it. Maybe getts will get it fixed but I don't have faith that JR will relinquish control to him.

Anyone purely blaming Cam can go play in traffic. Anyone thinking it's time to switch to DA or draft Bridgewater can also play in traffic.

Cam needs to run more, roll out of the pocket more, throw off his back foot less? Sure. But for all those thinking he can't be our QB now and in the future, with proper coaching and players around him, literally are mouth-breathers.

Starting over will set us back for years luck Wilson are all anomalies not the rule. You guys hate loosing get rid of cam and start over start the loosing clock back another 3-4 years.

I think we should give this guy an honest shot o line receivers new coach and if he fails then start over but give him a shot cause trust me this kid can win somewhere else and this fanbase will look like bigger fools than we already do.

If Cam had been anything less than what you described above, he would not have completed a season in a Panther uniform yet.

It's going to take much more than a QB to fix this organization.  We are losers.  We are viewed the same as everyone other than Panther fans view Jacksonville, Clevland, Oakland, the Browns.  A couple of those teams have history that we could only dream of.  A losing organization and the QB is brought in and blamed for it all.  The 2d half yesterday was a culmination of everything that defines the Panthers. 

 

Some of you need to be objective and compare every facet of this team to the standard that the QB is held to.  The first half was perfect Cam, more than good enough to win, the second half... penalties(coaching/team), horrible line play (o-line), horrible play calling (OC), and horrible running and receiver play (skill positions), the defense was good, but got no pressure in the second half.  Every area of the team flunked other than our defense and special teams.  You can't win like that. 

 

Young QB's can win, especially with Cam's skillset, but they should be given the opportunity to be game managers not go out and be Peyton, Brees, Brady, or Rodgers. 

 

If you put good coaching and a team around your QB to put them in the position to succeed, you have a winning formula.  We have patented the losing formula.  Shaub, Flacco, Wilson, Kaepernick, Big Ben, Eli, Ponder (lol), Dalton aren't world beaters, they're good QB's in good systems with the pieces around them to succeed. 

 

Some of you need to be objective.  We've been bad for a long time, we upgraded at QB and all of a sudden he's supposed to magically take us to the playoffs.  Only this fanbase would be so foolish.  With the system of foolishness and incompetence we have here, only Peyton Manning could get us  to even sniffing the playoffs, and that's only if he was calling the plays.

What's wrong?   Quite simple, we pay good money and devote Sunday afternoons to be entertained.  It has been a long while since we were entertained and had hope for playoffs.

As said in several posts, Cam is not the problem.  Trying to make Cam play like Carson Palmer is the primary problem. 

 

Another problem -- this team has the disease of doing just enough to lose.  Whether it be a dropped pass (or several), fumble, missed block or blown coverage, they find a way to lose.  That, my friends, is coaching and management. 

 

Put our offense in the hands of a cerebral, competent and creative coaching staff ... and we are 4-0.

Frankly who cares if he is "physically gifted" with "tons of upside." I want a mature QB that is a leader, consistent, high football IQ and can pick apart defenses. Physically gifted means nothing to me when it comes to the QB position. I would take Andy Dalton over Cam and I mean that 100%. Will Andy Dalton take off for 40 plus yards and flip into the endzone? No. But hes a good leader, consistent and knows how to read defenses and hes not erratic. I still cant comprehend how a QB can look like Peyton Manning in one half of a football game then come out looking like Clausen the 2nd half is mind boggling.
