CJ's sack-strip fumble-touchdown

I really hope the FO brings this to the attention of the league.  It was a criminally fast whistle that robbed us of a TD that might have been enough to change the outcome of the game.  Maybe the offensive playcalling wouldn't have gone full retard if we had that TD.

The call was so bad, it's almost conspiracy theory worthy.  Just what did the official hope to accomplish with that whistle if not protecting a possible turnover?  CJ was already bringing Palmer down when the whistle blew, it's not like he could have stopped the tackle.  So "player safety" wasn't the issue.  The only thing the whistle accomplished was taking 7 points away from us.

Today's officiating crew was up there with Boger's infamous Raiders game for worst officiated games in recent memory, but at least Boger was unilaterally bad.  That game wasn't officiated poorly to the benefit of either team.  Today, there were numerous penalties on us that were bad, there was the early whistle on Cam (preventing him picking up a few yards because he was breaking away...I don't think he would have let the ball go if not for the whistle, so I don't think it helped us in that case as some have suggested), and then of course the early whistle on the CJ sack.

I'm not trying to say we would have won with proper officiating, Lord knows 90% of the team tried their damndest to lose the game today, but it was an extra hurdle we had to try to overcome.

I agree with OP. The call was so bad. We got robbed a TD! Another bad call was the PI on Smitty. But again, the Offense srewed it up themselves. And can there be a game without a penalty by Armond Smith? This guy is driving me nuts!

CJ was already bringing Palmer down when the whistle blew.

^ this.  Play over.

That PI really pissed me off how can you call that...especially on a vet like Smitty who is proven and has time in...nothing different than any other vet. player does and never get flagged like Tony Gonzalez

I nearly lost my voice on that play. 30 seconds of rage over a bs call, but why even bother? We have a team full of unfocused screw ups and has-beens. Now I just feel sorry for the fan base, and if the refs outright cheat, oh well the season is over anyway. It's not the first time the refs have cheated this team. Hell they once blocked our center from snapping the ball, then when the play clock expired, they called a penalty on us. Just sh!t like that has been going on far too long, but that's the least of our problems.

I want to see the play again, but from what I remember it was one of the more bogus calls I've seen in a long time.

I don't think I've ever seen a play blown dead during a routine sack before the QB hits the ground. I could understand the refs blowing the Cam play dead, because Cam often looks guaranteed to be sacked but somehow comes away. Palmer was not close to breaking away from CJ. Just an awful call that, yes would have changed the outcome of this game.

Yea, there were a couple, but mostly of the "false start" variety, nothing that required an actual judgement call.  Only the types of penalties the officials HAD to call.  I literally saw Hardy get bear hugged and dragged to the ground with an OL and no holding was called.
