Stopping Newton - The Word is Out

***Warning crazy rant*** ***If you want to read something nice and sane, then don't read this***

I would fire GM David Gettleman in an instant for this sorry ass o-line. Gettleman sounds like an over the hill dumbass who should never speak in public with that horrific gutter accent. The man can't control his weight, he's 2 years away from a massive heart attack (look at his hanging gunt) and he hung around long enough in the league to latch on to a loser franchise for his big payday. Fire him. Good lord the mistakes. We drafted a project OG, and brought in Wharton, whose pass blocking is the worst I've ever seen at this point in his career. Our own fans were predicting that Kubila would be injury prone and a liability before his recent injuries. Our fans here on the damn huddle were calling it. I've had it. Get rid of him. We had plenty of options for fixing the o-line. Gettleman and RR failed. I would dump them with a quickness. No free pass for loser Gettleman because he's new. Bring in a winner who is sought after and on the rise, not a lummox who hung around and no one wanted to promote. Look where that got us. Look at our team. Gettleman wtf were you thinking? Terrible o-line. Cam is very likely to have serious injury this season. Get a winner on the rise, and watch this o-line get fixed. That means drafting PROVEN RELIABLE o-lineman, and spending REAL MONEY on o-line FAs, not tanking a season with losers and soon to be IR bench warmers. JR stop counting your socialized NFL profit sharing money and fire Gettleman and clean house. Stop sticking with losers because they have a contract and you're obsessed with money. BOA is going to be completely empty of Panther fans, and as a man (probably more of an old lady at this point) you're pride is on the line. If you want a winning legacy, then it starts by telling the losers to hit the bricks. Gettleman, Captain, Shula, coaches, FO, players, start dumping them out into the world and watch how quickly no one ever hears from them again.

Dont know who all saw it but Cam even had Rodney Harrison and Coach Dungy (Harrison actually said it) saying Cam needed to be on a different NFL team...on national tv.

Hopefully those guys aren't in Cam's hear. Looks like even the media is feeling sorry for Cam. 2-3 years without drafting offensive players can get you to that point.

after watching Manning and Romo go at it yesterday, it obvious to me that Cam will always be a gimmick qb.  He is not a pro style qb and will never be accurate on deep passes.  I dont think Cam can get us to the Super Bowl.  Its not his fault, hes doing what he is capable of doing.

I think you watched 2 teams that are heavily invested in their offense. That's how 50 point happen. Romo nor peyton weren't doing anything spectacular but throwing to wide open receivers behind very good OL.

Cam Newton fails to go through his progrssions, which in turn causes the high amount of interceptions. This is not completely Cam newton's fault, of course he as a professional quarterback should know to do this already, but let's ask ourselves, who picks a quarterback #1 overall in the draft, who people are aware he isn't a very refined passer, and then hires a defensive minded head coach who happens to have no head coaching experience at all, then expect your "franchise quarterback" to perform at superstar level consistently. And to top this off, you give a young quarterback who isn't good with his progressions, no reason to even look through these progressions because he has only one option he can trust on the outside in steve smith. Of course he has Olsen to but we're talking about wideouts. So in carolina we are basically setting Cam Newton up for failure by 1. having a horrible head coach who can't teach a quarterback anything, 2. Not caring enough to give him either a formidable offensive line and/or higher level, more consistent receivers, 3. having a dumb ass offensive coordinator who doesn't know how to let Cam off a short leash  be the playmaker he can be . This is my point of view on it, blame the man who does the hiring, for he is setting Cam up for failure. Get Cam an offensive minded coach, an O-Line, and better receivers!

The 5th season is not really an option. If we exercised it, we would have to pay him in excess of $20M for one season (avg of top 5 QG salaries).

Gettleman is not that stupid.

My biggest questions is this....will many of the idiots on this board leave when Cam is shown the door after next season? Or, are they truly Panther fans?

My biggest question is... if next year's draft & free agency look the same as the past couple years, will he be asking where said door is located?

The difference between great franchises and the crap called Carolina. Baltimore sensed they might have an issue with the OL, what do they do? They trade for a 26 y old starting LT(Eugene Monroe). The panthers have had OL problem the last 3 years(during Cam's era), what do they do? NOTHING. What a fu(ked up franchise.

If you're a rebuilding team, why the hell do you draft defensive players only. Even the jets realize they can't win games on defense only. wtf!

Cam doesn't need to be a Manning or Romo, he just needs to put points on the board.  Problem is that our coaches are trying to make Cam be like Romo and Manning.  That will never work.  He can take us to a Superbowl but they need to create gameplans that leverage his strengths.  We have the pieces.

You say "when he is shown the door" like it's a foregone conclusion. He's only in his third year and we've played exactly four games. Are you insane? So because people don't agree with your silly rantings they are automatically labeled as idiots and fans of only Cam?

You sound incredibly delusional. It's only noon.

i saw a screen pass that shat on that

It's a combination of both. Receivers had issues getting open and the o-line was only giving Cam 1.8 seconds to react. I mean, after a full quarter of watching the opposing coaching staff send 5-6 rushers, you would think Shula would take advantage of Arizona's overaggressive playcalling with screens, underneath slants, uptempo sets/no huddle, etc. Nope.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
