It's actually kind of impressive, though, how quickly they got that field and everything put together from that A's game earlier today.

Not really.  It looks broke dick as all fug.

Fining players left and right for minor uniform issues, but you have a team playing it's home games on a damn baseball diamond.  What the hell...

I mean, look at this endzone.  It looks like hell.

"Play to the strengths of Cam"

I agree but we have to pass the ball eventually, right?

Yeah, you know like he did when he broke all the rookie passing records?

The guy in your avatar dropped a TD pass and dropped another one down the seam that would've probably went for 30+ yards.  Both wide ass open and perfectly thrown.

It took me a second to discern where the endzone was. Last game I saw on here it was weird as heck with people sitting in the dugouts...

I actually picked Rivers up off waivers to cover for my RG-Knee on the bye this week. And he is not doing me favors at the moment.

Why do we care so much about his rookie passing records?

For all the good Cam has done, he's backed it up with just as much bad.

He's inconsistent and nothing but average.

Mainly it's when idiots talk about him being unable to throw the football.  It's not just his rookie passing records either.  He also hold the record for the most passing yardage through the first two years.

I'm not saying Cam Newton is Peyton Manning or Tom Brady right now.  He's not.  Neither were they at this stage in their careers.  What I'm saying is he's done really well throwing the ball for a guy who was coming into the league more touted for his running ability than his throwing ability and who has only played with one legit starting caliber WR, not to mention playing behind a patchwork OL.

But, don't let that get in the way of your agenda.

Because we could have Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder or Geno Smith. That's my trying to realize we have it better at the QB position then some teams. And thus being thankful for Cam.

Cam isn't the best in the league.

he isn't elite.

he may never be.

but he's good enough to win, and to win big.

you give him a decent offense around him, and more importantly a coordinator that can utilize his unique skill set, and you will win games.

I don't have an agenda.  I've been one of the Cam homers since before we drafted him.  I got in numerous arguments with several members on this site who disagreed with me.  Through his first 2 seasons I did nothing but stick up for him and make excuses for him.  But I'm done with that now.  It's year 3 and when we list his negatives, they are the same as what we listed year 1.  Accuracy, footwork, reading the defense/making audibles, making his progressions etc.  Yeah, he's put up nice stats but he hasn't really progressed.  Is part of that coaching?  Yeah, sure it is.  But at some point you have to look at the player himself.

Like I said above, for all the good stats you guys can throw at me I can throw you a terrible stat to match it.

I posted this in a separate thread but....

In 36 career starts, Cam has had 9 games in which he had a QB rating of less than 70.  That's 1 in every 4 starts.  We are 1-8 in those games.  If that doesn't concern you than you are delusional.

Not only is his skill set unique. He's a better passer and runner than every other "unique" quarterback in the league. He's the most dynamic player in the league...and that's evidenced by the fact that he's scored the most touchdowns of any player in the league the past 3 years.

Whether he's elite or not right now is no argument, but the fact that he should be one of the most exciting players to watch every week is no doubt...and half of the reason why he's played poorly is because the offense we run makes him play like someone he'll never be.

And the one we ran that was more suited toward him was so disorganized that it made no sense. Ever. Cam has never had the chance to play football that helps him win in the NFL.
