Cams worst problem

I agree. We can still win with his shortcomings. I don't see why Panther fans are so dramatic. Flacco has appeared like hot poo this season so far and he was Super Bowl MVP.

Manning threw for three more INTs today (again) and he's got two rings.

yeah but guys on here want to ignore that and go about there cam bashing.........

Cam's problem is that offensive teammates didn't step up for him. The LaFell and Smith drops basically cost us the game. But I'm not going to over blow Smith's performance like everyone else and claim he's hot garbage now. If he makes those 2 catches today that's probably around 80 yds and a TD for him. Not a bad day.

What I thought cost us was that Ginn was non existent in the passing game. We threw deep to him 1 time. 1 Fuggin time man.

We didn't have time to get him the ball deep and he still had 78 yards... I think we need to work ways on getting him and Cam connected more though when Cam doesn't have 5-7 seconds to wait for a play to develop

For everyone saying he holds the ball too long...or that he "stares his target down too much"

Go to a game and you'll see why. These routes we run are more suited for an OLine that can actually pass protect....but really Cam is ready to throw to these guys but they simply haven't turned their heads yet....it takes them forever to finish their routes.

Cam carved up that Arizona defense when we elected for the shorter routes.

Just saying...

Your favorite target drops a td pass after you were perfect on the drive and then your "#2" wr drops a 4th down pass in the redzone. I kept saying it all game, you can't keep expecting Cam to play perfect all game while everyone around him plays like poo. Eventually he'll lose confidence and start forcing poo

I don't exactly consider a three interception and one lost fumble anywhere close to "a perfect game".

Newton's known issues:

- Inconsistency

- Holding the ball too long

- Footwork and mechanics

- Starts well, finishes poorly

- Sometimes stares down or forces the ball to receivers

Breaking each one down...

Inconsistency: You're never gonna solve that with a gunslinger QB. You can minimize it, but you'll never get rid of it.

Holding the ball too long: That's on Newton. He just has to learn to make his decisions more quickly.

Footwork and mechanics: Coaching issue mainly. Lack of good OL play will reinforce bad habits and make this worse if you don't fix it. The longer it goes on the less chance you have of correcting it.

Starts well, finishes poorly: Also primarily on Newton, but coaching is big here too. Most gunslingers are slow starters who get better late in the game (i.e. 4th quarter comebacks) but newton is the opposite.

Sometimes stares down or forces the ball to receivers: Another coaching issue.

I think his decision making has improved year 3 but is it a coincidence that everyone forces the ball to Smith. I think with a real OC that would put Cam in a rhythm we would also see the consistency go up. Its still all on the players from year 1-3 to play perfect or they lose because of poor coaching.

Problem was AZ adjusted and made us play deep, something our WRs can't do.

....... That drop in the end zone was a game changer imo.

I thought the same thing when it happened.  The fourth down drop was the icing on the cake.  Sadly both occurred early in the game and many of us were probably thinking after them the Panthers were going to lose.  Sadly this team is NEVER able to overcome anything.  They either have to play a perfect game or they lose.  Overcoming a mistake never happens with this team.

How many of you think Eli is a bad QB? How many think he is playing poorly because there are some fundamental weaknesses with the Giants overall?

Sure, he has played badly, but when you know your only chance of staying in the game is to take some chances, bad things tend to happen.

Newton's situation is no different. He was as precise early as I've ever seen him, but the more we fuged up as a team, the more he started trying to force things.

As to those that mentioned Schaub, he is just bad. The early pick 6 he threw, he had nothing on the pass at all. It looked like one I would throw, not an NFL QB.
