Robert Lester appears solid

top dawg

Was just rewatching the game (yea, I'm a glutton for punishment >< I like to rewatch games to evaluate individuals without the emotional factor of watching it live) and something I noticed, the flea flicker that Lester intercepted was eerily similar to the infamous Ryan to White bomb that Nakamura flailed on last year.  Except Lester played it right and got the INT.  The ball placement and angle of descent was very similar to the Ryan-White pass.

Its suprising to me he had such a rough transition to the NFL from Alabama until now, since that seems to be the only team in the NCAA to preach good defense.  Glad he is making an impact now though and hope it continues.

We all saw him in coverage, at least during the interception. I don't remember him standing out a lot in coverage after that, but could be wrong.

I do remember him stepping up and looking ok in run support, minus that one run where he took a bad angle and was following the AZ RB down the field.

Still waiting to see how he holds up over the rest of the season

If you went by his first two games, it looked like Sherrod Martin was gonna be an all pro.

very true.

i like what i've seen from lester, but martin looked great his first couple games. he was an INT waiting to happen. looked like a real ballhawk.

and then....nothing.

A good friend of mine said Lester single-handedly changed the outcome of an NCAA championship with 2 plays at the end.  Instinctivly broke his coverage for an INT after blitzin for a -5yd tackle... Give the kid some time to adjust...
