I think there is some reason behind mid season firing. It could help a season or hurt it - you never know. It's more of a statement to fire them midseason and put a fire under the team that is complacent. We already know with Rivera that we probably have a strong chance of being 7-9 or worse and that's not going to get us to playoffs - so...

but I guess it's all opinion at this point because no one knows what's happening, as NFL Insiders seemed to prove.
