I'd love for you to have hope, but I don't think hoping for Shaw is realistic.

This guy who 'lives by his word' has said he wants to coach at Stanford until his kids graduate from there, and he has a two year old.

Don't mean to be a downer, but that's a hope that likely gets dashed :(

Curious on what you think about Pep Hamilton, who is Indy's current OC and worked under Shaw as well.

Never been a big fan of guys who have only been coordinators for a single year getting head coaching jobs.

Hamilton has prior pro coaching experience, but never as a head coach on any level.

Add in that I'm always a little skeptical of guys whose reps are made on super talented players.

(same deal with Adam Gase)

Overall I just don't think Hamilton is ready yet.  Maybe a few years down the road...

Well I would love to hear some insight on under-the-radar guys soon. Always respect your head coaching candidate profiles Mr. Scot.

Ive said i once, ive said it a million times. Lovie Smith is the man for the job. He has extensive HC experience on the NFL level, he has a winning record as NFL HC, he has multiple playoff experience and he fits the defensive minded mold DG and JR are looking for. I know people say no because of his offense but Jay Cutler and the horrible Bears O line didnt do him favors. He would do wonders for our D and im confident he would bring a good OC. He is the closest thing to a sure thing we will get in awhile.

My top choice hasn't changed.

Anybody who watched the Bengals defense against the Patriots today could probably testify to that.
