I have never once said anything negative about Cam Newton, but...

He is not going anywhere. They will franchise tag him when the time comes. He's your qb for the next decade, take the good with the bad, and be happy you don't have Christian Ponder, or Blaine Gabbert.

freakin Marty would but i'm not so sure about DG...

Every quarterback is putting up big passing numbers. We live in a passing league now so your points are weak.

Then why did Andrew Luck need more pass attempts to break the record? Why didn't any of the other young qbs also break the record? And by the way he broke Peytons record on less attempts......dumbass

3 options when pressured:

- Hold on to the ball longer: Sack, negative yardage

- Throw ball away: 0 yards lost

- Scramble: Mixed bag, usually positive yardage

With a bad offensive line, Cam needs to go to Options 2 and 3 way more often. So tired of him holding on to the ball forever and taking a big sack which kills all momentum from a great drive.

He scrambled on every single sack, I'm pretty sure. You should reformulate your little bullet list.

Funny, isn't that what you're doing? Thus far, the second half has been the only time Cam has appeared remotely mediocre this season. So stop. I'm not buying what you're selling.

Disagree. Couldn't get the first down when he needed to against Seattle late. Couldn't get the first down when he needed to against Buffalo late (threw one of worst picks of his career that game too). Blew out an 0-5 team. Was terrible today.

This is on top of his impressive resume of only having 2 4th quarter comebacks in his career, 1 of which I don't remember, the other being with 10 minutes left against Blaine Gabbert when we scored like 13 points total.

I keep hearing this "get rid of the ball faster" thing, and it's completely meaningless. What do you want him to do, throw it away? Then he's just Jimmy Clausen. That helps literally nothing.

When your WRs are covered like a slice of melted cheese on a hamburger, and your O-line lets blitzers through untouched before he's even finished his dropback, "get rid of the ball faster" is a mind bogglingly stupid thing to be complaining about.

You don't stand there waiting to get sacked either. He needs to run to pick up some yards or throw it away, by throwing it away we're looking at the next down with the same amount of yards instead of losing 5 or more. Throwing it away is 100% better than taking the sack.

Four pages deep, but here's my two cents ...

Cam is not elite. Period. He's good, and at times very good. But he's not great. Championships can be won by good QBs, but a dynasty is built around an elite QB. But he's not going anywhere. He's our guy. Better than Jake. But not even a Top 10 QB in the NFL. He falls just outside that list.

It is what it is.

Like the talking heads were gonna give it to him anyway. Cam has to prove himself every week no matter how he plays, he was doubted before he even got to prove himself nothing has changed.

SMF, you'll never change the minds of the Cam groupies so stop trying. They use him for their avatar or even make their user name after him. They'll never, ever, be able to see that he MAY not be the answer.

That is all you're saying. He MAY not be. They'll always think he is the answer.

Don't waste your time.
