I have never once said anything negative about Cam Newton, but...

Cam Newton needs an offensive minded coach....either HC or a great OC.

His potential oozes out his ears and is incredibly young. How many HOFers weren't winners 2 years and a quarter in to their careers

He is big play QB with no big play WR....that is the first part of the puzzle

This is it right here.  He also needs blockers that he can trust to pick up a blitz every once in awhile.

...I'm finally starting to believe he's not the answer at quarterback. Yes, his receivers were awful today, one of their worst performances ever. Yes, the o-line was putrid. But Cam cannot get rid of the ball to save his life. He's always good for at least a couple Clausenesque throws a game, has to lead the league in his career in most picks dropped by defenders because of his rocket arm.

I was the one that posted the first big thread about how I wanted Cam before the draft, the first credible poster to do so. And now I'm saying it: Dave Gettleman should not extend Cam's contract and let him go after it expires. I don't see it working here.

Oh yeah and fug Ron Rivera. That is all.

I'm not ready to go that far just yet.

If I see more games like this one as the season plays out, I might start to worry though.

You guys are right I've been quiet so far this year. But are you saying I've been quiet during some great Panthers start? I could be wrong, but the Panthers entered this game 1-2 right? And I was the one that broke the Jon Beason news on here; it was on the Huddle even before Brett Jensen. I'm just finding it more boring to post the same old stuff about this team unless I have something new to say.

Good quarterbacks win anyway, especially when all we needed was 13 points. Good quarterbacks can will teams that are struggling to 13 points, when playing against opposing QBs that throw 3 picks.

It's a team game. Cam makes mistakes, but he would sure look a lot better if he had a NFL caliber OLine, or if the entire franchise wasn't build around a model that became obsolete a decade ago.

Richardson wants a defense first team that runs, runs, runs, and then runs again. He has had this mindset for 20 years. It needs to change. Cam has elite potential, but he needs help in realizing it.

Could not disagree more.  Cam threw for more yards than Peyton did in his first two years, accounted for 8 more TDs (rushing and passing), 14 fewer INT's, and an additional 1,450 on the ground than arguably the greatest ever and someone that has been groomed from birth.

He is still making mistakes in year three but he also only played one year of bigtime college football, and even Peyton has routinely made boneheaded plays in his NFL career with the exception of this year.  Certainly, Peyton never took a 5 loss team to a national title or came from behind from down 24 at Alabama either.

Cam does have it in him.  We cannot do better because no other team can either.  Accept the new coach, more pieces, growing pains, and he will be a champion here.

Here was our one drive in the 4th today if I'm remembering it correctly, at least while we were still down just 12-6.

Cam Newton incomplete pass intended for Smith.

Tolbert run for 3 yards.

Cam Newton incomplete pass intended for LaFell.

Punt

Isn't this how EVERY drive of his goes in the 4th quarter when we need him most?

Like Tom Brady did today? Who couldn't score a td even after his defense kept giving him the ball? Im talking before it started raining when he threw an interception to end the game.

Look I hate Tom Brady more than I do erectile dysfunction, but comparing Cam positively to the most clutch QB ever because of one bad game?

Hey guys...if Cam had an all pro OL and 3 all-pro WR's, he would be a winning QB.

Guy can't read a defense...can't quickly go through his progressions...and makes questionable decisions. In short, he is lacking in the mental aspects of the game.

So to what do we attribute his records? How the fug can you see a NFL qb can't read a defense? Shut the fug up with that dumb poo. You don't accumulate the yardage he has in his career if he couldn't read a damn defense. Did you not here them during the game say how Rivera talked about how good Cam was pre-snap? fuging madhatter lay off of the tea its turning you into a mad hater.

Flacco played at a Peyton Manning level in last year's playoffs. I don't see Cam ever taking a team to the playoffs, much less turning into the best quarterback of the 12 teams that make it in. He will always throw a bad pick or have a terrible 3 and out in 4th quarter crunch time.

I think he has the talent to take it to another level. I understand why you are skeptical, but I also know that you would be ecstatic if he ever proved you wrong.

There is a lot wrong with this franchise right now. I hope that within the next few years, it can be turned around. There have been some really fun years to be a Panther fan, and I think that the next year we have like that, Cam will be the one leading the charge.

No offense, but people really need to stop talking about Cam in college. This is his 3rd year in the pros, The Golden Calf of Bristol had a great college career too.
