I kind of expect to... but you never know. I'm just used to Hurney. Hopefully Gettleman has it conditional. It'd be awesome to pick up a third rounder out of this or so.

We can certainly hope. The secrecy behind the particulars of it worries me though.

I rooted for Kasay when he was in Nola. Just like how I rooted for a retired Dan Morgan, Will Witherspoon, Ricky Manning Jr., Jake Delhomme, Mushin Muhammad, etc.I am rooting for Beason and Anderson right now. I dont hate a good former Panther. I hate the team: i.e. Saints.

The only former Panther I've ever hated is Peppers. Why? For the way he left. Since his time in Chicago, I have hated them just as bad as the Saints, Falcons, and Bucs. I will kill somebody if Peppers was to ever win a SB.

Your post is just fuggn stupid!

You hate Peppers because he wanted to leave a shitty team in a small market, where half the fan base always disliked him because of his alma mater so he could join a good team with a great defense in a major market and still get paid big bucks....

I think a 3rd is probably wishful thinking.

Even a 5th would be okay. He wasn't going to do anything for us the rest of the year, and he's a FA next year, so it's likely the compensation will be pretty low.

Nope. Alexander is NOT the DE some fans think he is overall. In fact, Horton might end up being our new LDE. Picking up Peppers in FA doesn't hurt. He's entering the twilight years of his career but he'll still provide enough rush off the edge with Star and Short up the middle.

Horton Who? ;-)

Beason is back where he is going to be best, in the middle.  The guy just doesn't have the explosive and sideline to sideline ability to be on the outside, trying to run down running backs who've bounced to the outside, or covering fast TE.  He is still a good tackler, and when he's bookended in the middle and only has to play clean up, he will be fine.

I wish Jon the best and hope he gets back to form. The bottom line is that he is much better In the middle, a position Luke now owns in Carolina, so no matter how well he plays for NY it was never going to happen here as long as he was miscast as an OLB. The whole thing was an unusual situation, and the trade was a best-case for both him and the team.

If Be as on can remain healthy and get reps this season I would put money on him being a top 5 MLB in 2014. But that is a huge if.
