Jon Beason Officially a Giant.......Passes his Physical

If it isn't a 5th, then I'm going to be pissed. We could have got a compensatory 7th or 6th from letting him go in FA.

What are the rules on compensatory picks?  Stats wise, he hasn't done too much because of being injured.  Do they go back to when he was a Pro Bowler in 2010?

Honest question.

Lets wait until we know the compensation before going off half-cocked.  Even then, we got something for him where we would not have otherwise. Since we traded for him before the deadline, does all of his dead cap money for next accelerate to this year.  If so might that be a partial reason for why we did it now?  We had the cap room now and wanted to clear the books of his bad contract.  Plus it surely sends a message to the team that no matter who you are or what you make, if you can't play then you will be gone.  Should be a wake-up call to everyone.

If it's a fifth....holy poo that would be some epic Gettlemagic.

Step 1:  Sign two-time Super Bowl winner Linebacker

Step 2:  Insert said LBer into starting lineup

Step 3:  Send your old starting LB to former team of SB winnnig LBer

Step 4:  Receive 5th round pick for your troubles

Im glad we got something for him, but its not hard to see why we wont be happy if its just for a 7th round pick.

If it's because Beason asked for a trade, then I'm happy with the 7th rounder and taking care of someone that has done a lot for us.
