I know you're a long time poster on this board. I know that you give thoughtful responses. I truly do empathize with wanting whats best for players that have sacrificed a lot for the Panther's organization. But really what would have been best for Jon was to be depth this year, get some game reps, and not have to deal with the pressure. Play while getting healthy and returning to form. I'm not sure if you're an ex athlete or not. But what I have found is that it takes some time to get back into the swing of things after serious injury, but can be done and really will be done with commitment and patience. Hell....look at Thomas Davis....what if we would have traded him for a 7th round pick a year ago. Glad we didn't. Obviously the Giants made the trade because they want JB to start at MLB. But if that's what they want from Jon they could have given us more then a 7th. Regardless of an emotional point of view involved Rivera and Gettleman had a responsibility to get the best deal and if the deal wasn't good enough they should have told the G's to poo off. This was not the best deal.

It's all speculation at this point, but maybe Jon asked for the trade. Maybe he didn't want to be anything other than a starting MLB. From everything I've read, Jon is a very prideful guy and it's not easy for him to be benched, whether it's behind Luke or Chase.

I just wish him the best. If he goes on to be an all-pro again, I'll be ecstatic.

Players come back from ACL's to play well all the time. Granted, TD is a rare one since he is coming back from 3, but comparing an ACL to a combination of a torn Achilles and a knee that required micro fracture surgery is not valid. Many players never return to form following Achilles and even fewer successfully return from micro fracture.

Jon's injuries were much more serious than TD's.

To rock my Beason jersey when I go to the 49ers vs Panthers this year.

Beason was one of my favorite Panthers, that will never change, I dont care what team he plays for.

I hope Jon Beason bounces back and becomes the great MLB that he still is IMO.....

Good Luck to you Beast in NY.....

I really thought 'Beast" would retire a Panther, and we would see his name in the Ring Of Honor  at BoA....I guess the NFL is a "business"
