Beason traded?

Gman is showing that he's willing to help his former team out. Healthy or not, Beason is probably the best LB the Giants has touched since Antonio Pierce. What do we get out of it? A damn late pick. Someone who is probably going to be on the PS.

1. Beason was gone at end of the year regardless.

2. We get something out of the deal

3. Beason gets to play MLB somewhere rather than languishing on the bench (which reports say he wasn't pleased at all with).

4. The giants essentially gave up a pick for a 1 year rental.  Beason contract will void 4 days after the start of FA.  So we get a 7th round pick for someone who was leaving anyway.

5. You don't keep popular disgruntled vets on the roster.

6. We can take a risk with the 7th round pick if it's only a 7th round pick on a player we never would choose otherwise.  Or use it to package a move up to the 5th.

7. The way the Giants season is going its going to be a high pick in whatever round it is.  Thus first pick of the 7th round is much better than 32nd pick.  You get someone who probably graded around 5th or 6th with that pick.

8. Jon Beason doesn't look healthy or at least not explosive.   With the way our front four is playing we need someone with the ability to cover out of backfield.  See Seattle game...

9. He was benched for Chase Blackburn!!!

10. Now its 100% Keuchly's team.

Read this, and then realize that you don't know jackshit about the value of late round picks:

Good piece written by David Newton on this. Can't start threads but this is definitely thread worthy! He and Smitty were like best friends. Says how Smittys kids took it really tough seeing Beason go. Dang man. 89 is hurting over this. Somebody needs to create a thread with that link. For real

All I know is, if we get Hicks after this year it will be worth it.   If we traded Beas after a restructure and he turns out to play well with the G's and all we get is a 7th rounders and Hicks bounces somewhere else I'll be pissed.

Again, who's this Hicks that you speak of?

And does anybody else find it ironic that Glazer is getting the credit for breaking the story when there were like 5 low level unofficial twitter accounts that broke it.

@Lisa 24-7 and @CLTCelebs or somin. Every single story I have read credits Glazer. I just chuckle. The entire media was scooped by low level twits. The irony

It was @CelebsInCLT who broke the story hours before anyone else, then Brett Jensen after that. Lisa 24-7 or whatev was just some fan who started saying we traded for Nicks.

Just a shortcut using the first letter of his first name, and the last part of his last name.  I'm just kidding it's my day off.  Hello bourbon.   Straight up brain pooage there.  Besides I'll still stomp you in Madden.

Grayd-aye is my gamer tag on PS3............get some.
