"Aww man. Look at this empty beer can. Its just the shell of what is used to be.. i meanit used to be a whole beer though! I mean do you know what that beer meant to me?! You cant just throw it away.. "

" you only look at the empty beer can in the state that its in. That was a beer! And it looks cool sitting on the shelf! I know i have an awesome ice cold 59 beer that replaced it, but who cares it was still a beer!"

"Your saying i could get money for recycling this empty beer can? A few cents! Hell no! This used to be a beer! I could put it back in the 6 pack and trick myself into thinking i jave more beers! It makes me feel good! No way a few cents is worth nothing to me!"

"This empty beer can could move on and could possibly become another servicable icecold beer via recycaling?! No! Its my beer can!"

We have been that dysfuntional franchise that hords players and puts too much worth into our players! Time to get rid of the thing that has handicapped our team for years! Gettletrain baby choo choo!!

Are they whining about it on twitter? I'm surprised anyone can read LaFell's tweets. #OOHHWEEMAYNE

If everyone on the team is that upset about trading a guy who has played in 8 games since signing a mega contract 3 years ago....I dunno man. Makes me think we are in for a LOSS on Sunday.

They can say and think what they want. It's Thursday night/early Fri Morning. They're entitled. He was a great comrade.

Come Sunday, I'm sure it'll be the last thing on their mind.

And if he is (on their mind)? As you said, then it's a loss, and the Panthers have bigger problems, especially if Beason's the reason, to a team and coach at a cross roads/very important part of the season.

Real talk Lafell needs to stop worrying about Beason and work on his routes, we know he isn't going to outrun anyone. What you guys think we could get for Lafell??? Ginn needs more playing time

Lafell + a 4th for Nicks!

LaFell actually tweeted something that was readable (even though it was in all caps)...

It said the following...

Jody Breeze ‏@Blafell

WE DID WHAT??????

TD said the following...

Thomas Davis ‏@TD58SDTM

Sad Day

Before you got called out on it (and edited it), the first sentence read "the knock on some of these Bama players"...

Never said he played for Bama. You assumed. LSU and Bama are the cream of the crop in the SEC and a lot of those guys go into the NFL and have already hit their peak. It appears Kirkpatrick and MoClay are no exception.

Again, I am responsible for what I say. Not what you think I say or what you comprehend. This goes for everyone.

If I'm not upset about it non of u fuggers should be.

I doubt Jon is upset either. That guy is the forever optimist.

I don't blame anyone for being upset because his Panther career didn't end the way we all hoped it would.

Objectively speaking though, this is a good trade for all involved (and that doesn't happen very often).

Hey if that's not what you meant, then I apologize but that's what it looked like to everyone (including myself).

The only difference is that I didn't think it was that big of a deal to call you out on it.

If we got a 7th rounder for Beason, what do you think we would get for LaFell?

We'd be lucky to get a 5th rounder from the Toronto Argonauts.

The way this team trades, I'm surprised we haven't lost players to blank sheets of paper.

Yeah agree w/ most of this. Sometimes stuff like this can shake up the complacency of a team.

Friendly reminder: the Cleveland Browns are 3-0 since trading their "franchise player" Trent Richardson.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
