You're just one of the many people that have commented that are only looking at what Beason does on the field.

 

What he does off the field as a leader and a mentor will be hard to replaced... And even as a backup, he is probably better than a lot of the guys that are on NFL rosters.

I've loved what Jon has done here and he has always appeared to be a great person on and off the field from the outside looking in...  That being said, that has nothing to do with why I don't like the trade at this time.

 

I have a hard time believing he will ever get back to the player he was before the injuries, namely the microfracture, as I've said since it was revealed that was what he had knee surgery for.  Again, my concern is messing with team chemistry coming off of possibly our biggest win ever - or at least under Rivera.  We finally have a reasonable chance of turning the corner (which sadly is reaching .500 for the first time in forever, lol) under Rivera, and we decide to make a trade the week of?  I don't like the timing.

Can he get healthy at this point with his knee? Microfracture ruined Stephen Davis. I mean no disrespect to the man but he has not looked like he can compete at the professional level. He had the knee surgery almost a calendar year ago. I just wonder if he hasn't already come back as far as he can given the damage to his knee
