Beason traded?

My opinion is that if we get a 5th, it's a good deal. If we get a 6th, it's a push. If we get a 7th, it's possible that we lost a little on the deal but it's good for Beason that he gets a chance to resurrect his career.

Regardless of the outcome, it's anything to be pissed about. We literally lose nothing other than some mythological "intangible" leadership quality.

Its just too soon. Whats the compensation. Beason here rehabbing even for the entire year is better than any 5-7 round pick. Some people just fall in love with having lots of picks... its not worth the trade unless its a 4th rounder.. period.

Can any of you stop and think that this is a net benefit to Beason? He gets to return to his natural position and if he performs he'll get to recoup some of that lost money on his contract. He already knew the writing was on the wall for his time here, and he's going to a team that desperately needs him. We get a pick, they get a player, we all move forward.

And anyone saying he needs to be here for helping Luke's film study should go smash their moronic heads in a garage door, Kuechly was dissecting defenses and film long before he was even drafted.

Honestly, this is really a stupid trade, and anything other than Nicks, WHICH WAS HIGHLY UNLIKELY AND IMPROBABLE, isn't enough.  I don't care if Beason is still relatively unhealthy...  He's a good influence on other players and is an invaluable presence in the locker room.  He keeps morale up and provides leadership, even if he isn't able to play.

So, we just have possibly the biggest (both literally and figuratively) win in franchise history, possibly shifting an overwhelming amount of momentum in our favor that could possibly carry us into a rare winning streak, and you trade away a locker room favorite and team leader???

And we trade him for nothing?  Basically, a favor for his old team...  I don't care if he has little to no value elsewhere, he has value in the locker room here and the odds are highly skewed in the direction that we will not get anything close to Beason on the field or in the locker room with a shitty late round pick.

Stupid trade at a even dumber time to do it.  Huge strike against Gettleman if all we get is a late-round pick, IMO.

I love Jon Beason but looking at it non emotionally.

1. We help Beason get put in a good situation (ie.. a place where he can start).

2. We get rid of a player who is hurt most of the time who plays a position that he probably has no chance of playing as long a Kuechly is here.

3. We get something for him.  Even if it's only a 7th round pick, its something.

There's no such thing as rehab that's gonna make the cartilage in his knee grow back.

I just want to remind all you "fans" that when Kueckly was drafted, there were a lot of boos, groans, and whining.

AWWW MAN WHY DIDNT WE PICK FLETCHER COX

WE DONT NEED ANOTHER LB WTF HURNEY

Nobody on this website wishes anything bad towards Beason. We all wish him the best. Times change and this nostalgia BS is a serious Achilles heel (no pun intended) to this fan base.

You don't just rehab from what is ailing Beason....it is one of the worst or at least painful/lasting injuries.

Even if he does play well it will be at an even more physical cost than what these guys normally go through.
