I have always liked Beason and have his jersey too. I was afraid of this happening when I told everyone that his achillesinjury could be career ending and that particularly at linebacker most guys never recovered 100 %.  Most times it took 3 years to even get back most of your ability.  I hope Jon keeps recovering and can resurrect his career elsewhere. I for one will miss him and have fond memories even as I realize this is a business and it makes sense from that aspect. As for what he can contribute in the film room passing on his knowledge to other guys, I suspect he already has done that. Kuechly and Davis seem to have it down pat.

But more to the point if we don't get a 5th for Beason then it's a waste if he was gone anyway. Not saying we need to expect anything out of him but just his presence alone would have helped. When luke got that pick last year against the raiders who did he immediately point to on the sideline? Beason

Of course it sucks....but you don't value nostalgia. This is 2013, not three years prior. In the grand scheme of the team, no one should give a hot poo what he did 4 years ago.

I feel ya bro. Just making sure that you were still human and hasn't been turned into a robot like some of these other fools

I'm stuck with a Peppers, Otah, and now Beason (potentially). All authentic style to. That's like $900 in useless fabric if true.

I'd be happy to buy beason jersey still.

I don't understand why fans with jerseys stop wearing them when the player is no longer wuth the team.

It's safe to say that we ALL have an emotional tie to Beason after all these years. MOST of us here here this, but some people are being just plum dumb about it. There's so many ways to look at it. It's just so fresh.

This is a HUGE distraction that we DON'T need going into Sunday. I do know that!

 

they'll get over it.

 

they have to.

 

they've been doing fine without him on the field for a couple years now and just keep getting better.

 

they'll continue to do so.

 

it won't be that big of a distraction. it's business. it's good for beason. they'll move forward.

 

i'm not at all worried about this and i don't really see how it's worth worrying over. it's not like they're going to be daydreaming about the good ol' days with beason and moping because he's not there anymore. they're big boys. they'll push through it if it bothers them.

Too soon. Never had a chance to come back from the injury. Seems unlikely we would keep Davis after 3 knee surgeries.. and only keep beason for 3 games... trading him for a 7th is moronic. I don't care who you are.

The difference is that Beason is not coming in and taking Keeks spot....100% prime Beaston isn't as good as Keek....

 

Trading him for a 7th(if it is that) is pretty stupid because as bad as Beason is, he will still be the best defensive player on the Giants team, so for them a 7th could be a steal.
