Beason traded?

Fire Gettleman...

A late round pick for Beason is an insult to a man that gave his all for the Panthers...

A late round pick isn't worth it...

I might get flamed for this, but IMO this is an overreaction. As cold as it is, football is a business. You're torching Gettleman for doing the opposite of what Hurney did. Hurney was too loyal, now Gettleman isn't loyal enough.

Can't have it both ways.

Great post by Voth:

On Jon Beason: IF he is traded, it makes a whole lot of sense. He's not close to the player he used to be, wants to be, or needs to be. He MAY get there one day, but it's not going to be this year. So what do the Panthers do? Considering who Beason was both as a player and leader, it's hard for them to just bench the guy. That's why they let him stay out there in Weeks 1 and 2 when he was obviously at least a step behind. Read an article this week that questioned if his career could be over. I think that's a big leap to take right now. It could turn out that way, but the guy's going to get a chance to get healthy. He probably won't be a Pro Bowler again, but he could be a solid starting LB in the league once he gets the knee somewhat right -- which will be next year at the earliest. The Panthers hoped he'd be a serviceable starter this year, even though they knew odds weren't fantastic, and the knee's still too far away. So essentially, since they can't start him or bench him, his days in Carolina have been numbered. If Dave Gettleman can use his Giants ties to get something right now, it makes sense for everyone involved.

Which means it's pry an intelligent move

Does it make you feel better about yourself to make jokes at my expense all the time? And then hide behind the fact that you're a moderator that has banned me on multiple occasions?

It's okay with me. I was just wondering if all this made you feel like more of a man.
