Least/2d Least Penalties in the League

Hey if you just jinxed us I'm going to have a hot air balloon made in the likeness of Alicejandra and I'm going to find out where you live, hover over your house, and drop leaflets in your lawn that contain Alice's best quotes on fashion advice, dieting tips, and advice on spending way too much on tie-dye Air Jordan's.

And this right here is why the Huddle is the best site to lurk on when stoned.

Wanted to give this thread a bump/update.

The Carolina Panthers have remained disciplined throughout the year.  At one point, we were the top 1-2 team in the league in fewest penalties and penalty yards.  Today, we rank 6th in both categories.

I thought that showed when on 4th down with our backs against the wall with SF at our 2 yard line with the opportunity to get a fresh set of downs at our 1.  Kaep came out with what I thought the intention to snap the ball and run a play.  Instead, he employed a hard count, which did not work.  CJ and Hardy, both antsy to get off the ball and into the backfield, were calm, cool, and collected.  It didn't work, and SF had to kick a field goal instead of getting 4 new downs with the certainty of scoring.  We won by 1.  Go Panthers!

Not a lot has been said this year about the discipline that has been shown on the field by this football team.

Last year we were middle of the pack. In 2011 we were at the bottom of the barrel. We bitched, whined, pointed fingers. But now, now that we haven't been giving up free yardage, just like the absence of penalties, there has been an absence of praising ol' Ron's improvement in this area.

Here's a link showing penalty stats for the last 6 years or so:

You can manipulate it any way you like, so I didn't want to put "least penalized team" outright, but we are definitely at the top of the NFL.

If we keep this up, the wins should start coming.

Cheers

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but we are 6-3 with a dominant defense headed into a home MNF game against the 7-2 Patriots, a top 5 team as far as least penalties go.  7-3, here we come!
