The NFC is so bad that the Panthers are a half game out of the wildcard

This is amazing to me. Current playoff standings a quarter of the way through the season are:

1. Seattle (4-0) (over New Orleans due to strength of victory)

2. New Orleans (3-0)

3. Detroit (3-1) (over Chicago due to head-to-head)

4. Dallas (2-2)

5. Chicago (3-1)

6. San Francisco (2-2) (over Arizona due to NFC West record)

---

7. Arizona (2-2)

8. Green Bay (1-2) (over Carolina due to strength of victory)

9. Carolina (1-2)

So if we can improve even just a little, we could be a shoo-in for a wild card spot. Even if we play .500 football, we're going to stay in the hunt at least through the end of the regular season.

Also, if you guys weren't aware, we're now #3 in total scoring defense!

2 good weeks in a row!

Because we play Arizona and SF we actually control our own destiny (well almost). Usually if you are behind 3 other teams they can simply match you record and go to the playoffs.

So if we win this weekend against AZ we will be 2-2.

Then hopefully GB will lose to DET, and San Fran loses to HOU.

Kinda weird situation with CHI and NO. If CHI loses we move closer to a wildcard, if CHI wins we move closer to winning the division.

Either way if this happens we could be 6th/7th in NFC.

umm...we're not even a 1/4 of the way through the sesason, even the Giants are only 2 games out.

Yeah this is the real issue. At this point last year the Cards were 4-0, they won a single game the rest of the year. It's way too early to worry about records.

I'm still keeping my expectations tempered. Giants are actually even worse then I had originally thought they were...So I dont know how much that game really meant. I want to see us pull some big wins. It's great to still have a shot though. If only we had beat the Seahawks, honestly...it pains me.
