all of houston's points came in the first half.  

 

like they always do, seattle find's ways to win the second half. houston tried to put up more points, but seattle's defense proved again that they are the best in the league.

I watched the game.

 

Houston blew the game. I don't think "Seattle Stepped On Their Necks (though they certainly did tighten up their defense during the second half, in conjunction with Houston slowing down)". 

 

No one even thought/realized Seattle could win until Schaub threw that late pick. A Houston victory was almost a foregone conclusion. 

 

Moral of the story: Put more points on the board Houston, and/or don't throw dumb picks Shaub.

Heh, I had just left to buy more beer when shaub threw his 3rd pick 6. 4th if you count the charger game tackle at the 2yd line. Houston radio is great right now and will be very enjoyable all week.

Actually the Cards are another team that went the Rivera route and won. Their last possession (before the FG) they had a short field. They were playing for a field goal the whole time.

They got the 13-10 lead, giving Tampa a chance. But their defense came through with the interception.

Why doesn't that happen for us? It seems our defense also goes conservative, not just our offense.

But if you stop trying to be the smartest guy in the thread and pay attention, you'll see that I'm saying Ron's way seems to be working - this week, anyway. There are three examples just from the early games where his way has led to Ws. I'm wondering what makes it so different for us.

Ron didn't fumble on 4th & 1.

Ron didn't throw an easy TD in the dirt.

Ron didn't trip over his feet & give up a hail Mary.

Ron didn't act like a dumbass & try to be a big shot jumping a route instead of covering his man in the endzone.

Ron didn't miss chip shot field goals.

fair enough. I didn't watch that game so I don't know how it went down. I did see that highlight and it was a very dumb throw.

Seattle is typically a team that turns up the intensity in the second half.

meanwhile, carolina typically tries to coast in the second.

what's his overall record as HC?

what's his record in games won or lost by 7 or less?

how many games has his team lost after having the lead in the 4th?

what's his record this year?

 

38-0 over a bad team doesn't come  close to taking away the stench that has followed in his wake as coach. it was one game against an overwhelming history of failure. it was an anomaly....an aberration. until he can get this team to a winning record, he will still get bashed and that bashing will be justified.

Well, one thing we know for sure: The Bronco's are not slowing down. 49-13 with 10+ minutes left in the 4th Qtr. 

 

Ronnie could actually learn something from Denver, and their coach who will not be named. Bronco's were a defensive based team. And when they got Manning, they let him do his thing. 

 

Rivera has Cam, Smith, Olsen, and RB's who contributed to a great offense in 2011, and a excellent 2nd half offense in 2012. 

 

So what does Rivera do? He tries to hold on to every small lead from the second quarter on, and especially in the second half. Denver's not trying to limit their points on offense just cause they have a good defense. 

 

You have to play to your personnel, and not be stubborn towards, or scared into your own philosophy.
