ESPN article inspires hopes for the playoffs

So...it is perfectly alright to blame Norman, but not Keek? Oh ok, I need to get these new fangled interwebz rules down.

You don't have to be sorry...you just choose to be. Bazinga.

There are no points I can make to give any of you Rivera haterz pause. But, what the hellz I'll try.

The only mistake Rivera has made more than once? Relying on his Defense to win a game. He is a better coach today than he was when he got here. This team is playing better than when he got here. He is not afraid to self-evaluate and make changes he feels will make the team better. AND...belittle this all you want, but having the players love to play for you is huge.

This team is on the verge of something special. If you Rivera haterz have your way, we would tear it down and start over. If you think Rivera ain't smart, changing coaches at this point would not be much smarter.

And lastly...picking a HOF coach is like 1,000,728 to 1. Just because you want to replace Rivera does not mean you can upgrade him.

We're not asking for a "HOF Quality Head Coach". We're only asking for an NFL Quality edition. And so far, Rivera has not, been far from it!!

Nuff said. No need for running dialogue.

This next five game stretch is our barometer for what is and what will be...one game really doesn't say much....except that we kicked ass for one hour in a 16 game season.

Playoffs? .........PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!???......I still love that Hermie meltdown.

You mean his EVALUATION PERIOD!!??

Like it or not; Rivera's coaching tenure is an evaluation period. And so far, he's failing. Many believe he's already failed!! What do you want us to say or do?

Most sensible owners, would have fired him by now on his body of work.

The guy keeps making the same mistakes, while seemingly clueless as to what his job responsibility is many times. Boy, I would love to work for you as a screw up.

It's not about his "potential" or if you like him. All Coordinator's who become head coaches have "potential". That's why they became Head Coaches. However, many are just not cut out for the job of Head Coach.

And until proven otherwise (see we're giving him a chance), Ron Rivera appears to be one of those Failed Coordinators who can't grasp the HC position fully.

Wow. That is really...um...some nice hate filled supposition.

Most sensible owners would have fired him already. LOL that was a good one. How do you define sensible? An owner that agrees with you?

I don't like every decision he has made. But I see growth as a coach. To me, and a few others, that is all you can ask. But then again, I don't expect my coach to be perfect. I guess some of you do.

Until proven otherwise...I see a coach that is getting better and better. I see a team that is playing well, and getting better.

As for the bolded part. If you can look at this team and do not see growth? Then fine, get rid of him. However, if you don't see growth, you are not looking subjectively. This team is much better than it was when Rivera got here. Let the year play out before you determine it is a waste.

I am not trying to prove anything to you Rivera haterz. I already know how you feel. All I am doing is trying to add some perspective. And keep the love going.

If you are going to replace Rivera. You had better make damm sure you are making the decision for the right reason, and for the right coach. Scrapping what this team is doing for to assuage your fear. That would not be sensible.

I see NO GROWTH in Rivera, and have discussed, documented this many times in other threads. So I won't here.  I'm certainly not the only one of this opinion.

FYI: This is strictly off my eyes, and the events. There's no emotion or hate involved.

So I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on Rivera's demonstrated "growth" as you call it. SMH

No emotion involved but you have to SMH? Oh, ok then.

Like I said, there is no way to change a Rivera haterz mind. But it sure is funny when they can't change yours.

No growth?

You must be one of Rivera's 7 yr old Relatives?

Your blind commitment is admirable (which is why I made the above comment).

Yes, "NO GROWTH". No need to respond either.

I'm glad your happy with Rivera.

Dude give it up.. We already know you're secretly rooting for every team not called the Carolina Panthers... And yes you said no emotion but out of this whole debate your posts have been screaming emotion.

SMH (to the other stuff you said).

Learn to comprehend (as well as excuse yourself if/when  you can't).

I said 'my conclusions, and criteria of not being impressed by Rivera are based strictly off the facts, events/games, what Rivera says, and what's been reported'. Big difference.

In other words: I don't dislike him. He's seems like a nice guy and all. I just don't think (based off what I've seen, read, and heard so far) he's an NFL level HC. That decision is based off of No Emotion.

Other stuff I said? Hmmm okay.. Sure thing just point that out for me like a good little boy that has such high reading comprehension... Last I checked that was my first post in this thread but hey I could be wrong! You tell me though because I can't comprehend this whole letters forming into words grouped together that forms thoughts.. That ish blows my mind how that works.

Ps. You're on a public message board and I'm very bored watching these chiefs who apparently make our defense look like kittens struggle against the Giants. So yeah I saw you making a fool of yourself because you're claiming to have no emotion on the subject but at the same time you're coming off as a woman at that time in her monthly life that wants ice cream but doesn't have any and wants her hubby to listen to her feelings about her week at work but football is on. What I'm trying to say is he got the best of you and definitely gotten you to get all emotionally butt hurt.. I say... Who cares believe what you want but I'm not going to sit idle by and listen to you cry about why we should lose out so we can get rid of Rivera because YOU don't believe in him and want the rest of us to join your pitchfork protest.. No thanks. Good luck though.

Heaven forbid you add your opinion to a message board debate. How dare you sir.

Hey I can understand fans being frustrated with this team. Hellz, even my Homer glasses are a bit murky. The difference being, I am able to see growth, where the haterz just see losses.

As a side note. Last week I wore a Lions jersey. The Panthers won, but the Lions lost. This week I am wearing a Panthers shirt and the Lions are winning. Maybe I should wear a State jersey next week.

    • I mean that’s not an argument I go with… But in ACC play, both Clemson and SMU covered the spread more than Miami.  Miami didn’t cover in 3 games.
