Richardson is playing like a monster as DE for the Jets, plus Kiko Alonso for the Bills is leading in tackles.  Star is top 5 as far as impact from a rookie for sure though.

It is still early. And he has already improved. That is all I care about at this point in time.

 

Plenty of time down the road to start worrying about DROY awards. There are some impressive rookies this year. If he just gets mentioned that should be enough for a DT.

 

That said. I hope he gets it. Would be sweet for our franchise, him, and his teammates.

Of all of the amazing qualities that Star has, it should not be overstated how grounded and humble he seems.  Keep in mind he was "only" a 3 star prospect in high school, overshadowed by a now unknown 5 star named Simi Fili, went to JUCO, moved furniture, married, has kids, etc.  He literally has it all, physically and intangibles.

Last 2 years were very strong candidates at marquee, flashy positions.
