I booed for like five minutes straight at that game when the flag was called, complete BS. It seems ANY big hit to the QB is roughing the QB, the NFL should just acknowledge that already.

It doesn't matter wether you broke a rule or not.  if you hit a QB that hard you will be flagged.

Leading with the crown of your helmet mandates that you lead with the crown of your helmet. Given that Hardy's face is up and is facemask is making contact with Palmer's body prior to any other portion of his helmet, most especially the top, it'd be inaccurate to flag him for that, and yet he was all the same.

 

 

He was flagged because it was a massive hit that drew oohs and aahs from the crowd and Palmer is a QB. That's really all there is to it. Bogus call from a Boger,, er, um bogus officiating crew.
