The funny thing is, half the guys on here have no clue what we're talking about.

I remember when we got really excited that the processors broke 100MHz.

I also distinctly remember having a conversation with my old boss in which the words

"16MB of RAM!!!  We'll never need more than that..."  were spoken.

I was tough shit when I upgraded my 14.4 to 28.8

Then motorola came out with their x2 technology and its was 56k

Blazing AOL!

Any of you guys play DOOM on a BBS against other players for the first time!?!?! 0.o     At that moment I became a nerd.

I used to buy magazines at the grocery that had code in it for games.

I would spend all day typing it into the commodore 64

it would take hours

then I would play the game, usually something like popping balloons.

good times.

Best poo that ever happened to PC gaming was when ID put out that Demo disk and mysteriously that crack to unlock all of the full versions of their games including Quake 1.....  That made that game soo... freaking popular. As well as pirating.. I swear it was a revolution to PC gaming. That and OpenGL and that Verte technology or whatever the f it was called.

Holy poo I did the same thing... those commodore's were awesome.

Did you have the 5 1/4" disk drive that looked like a toaster?  I also had the tape drive for a while... talk about old school.

I could record songs on the radio AND save programs to the same cassette = badass.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Radio Shack TRS ("Trash")-80. The latest and greatest....

Zod, let me know if you want to do a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this bad boy....

We had this very computer in my 6th grade classroom.  If I'm adding that up right that would be circa 1983.  Don't think we had the fancy monitor though... probably just used old B&W TVs
