I think his ranking is largely how you play the game upstairs....

Not so much raw talent

Cam has so much raw talent it overcomes a lot of what he is still learning. He is still very raw.

Kaepernick and RG3 don't even make decisions on the field. That's the big joke, in regards to their "alleged" smarts. Anyone who actually watches them play know this. They're products of their system.

It all seems to be based of stereotypes, his perceptions, and expectations (like Cam's alleged inexperience, affecting his play/QB Acumen vs the others, even if it's better or equal to most of them now).

Luck? I think he is ahead of Cam from an X's and O's standpoint. Luck is a very smart guy....on and off a football field.

I am a huge Cam guy. He will get there....and he will be the scariest thing the NFL has seen when he does. I predicted this year will be huge for Cam.... and by late this year I expect a very dangerous man. You can see him maturing.... and then comes the real growth IMO

And I agree on the DG ear part. DG has made me nervous since he was hired

I think he was on target with some his comments which were largely positive.  I don't know if ranking him below those other guys is correct or not but he makes a good point which many have stated here which is that given the 1 year he played at a high level in college, he has about the same amount of high level experience right now as many 4 year college starters have when they come into the league.  So the guys he has on his list have more experience than he does.

I half listened to this interview.  He was high on the Panthers as a whole and thought they were better than their record so to say he is jaded would be a bit overstated. He also said he thought Cam was improving.  Not a big fan of this guy but he does make some good comments.  Respect his opinion even though I strongly disagree with him on some of his conclusions.

Just came on the drive and talked to Taylor and Marc.

 

-Said that he likes what he has seen out of Cam over the last 3 games. Said he is growing and has been since the last 6 games of last season

 

- The biggest mistake Cam has made the last 3 games was the pick in the Buffalo game.

 

-Likes Cams attitude from the off season till now. Said he agreed with Cams comments over the off season about it being time to win. But thinks Cam is to hard himself because he just doesnt have enough experience yet. Said the arrow is definitely trending up tho.

 

-Said he talked to Gettleman before the game and Gettleman said he thinks Cam is finally ready to "breakout".

 

-Still ranks him at the bottom of the young qbs list. Said even TANNNEHILL IS BETTER THAN CAM.........Yeah that was pretty stupid

 

-Said its more about wins tho, and to Cams defense he only had one year of big time college ball and is still behind on the learning curve of the other guys. take that how u want it.

 

-Said ranking players is overrated and Cam nor anyone else should look to far into it.

 

 

Taylor and Marc did not agree with him that Kap, Tannehill, RGKnee were better than Cam.

 

 

Take these comments how you want, im just letting everybody know. I dont look to far into what people think and say anymore. I think we should just focus on winning and let the play speak for itself.

 

Wow..Another ESPN lackey commenting on Cam with shallow observation that given any other QB wouldn't even matter. Why am I not surprise. I see ESPN is still coaching their people to continue the silly attack on Cam.

If we're going on how he's playing now, he's also bettet than Luck but we're suppose to believe that since the so called experts has made Luck the 'choosen QB' No one is better than him.

Cam already is what people think Kaep might become some day.  And he'll be playing long after RG III becomes a knee-less statue of a QB.  Wilson is something different and potentially special in his own way, but he doesn't have the physical ability that Newton does.

 

I might take Luck over Cam, but only if I'm looking for a traditional type of QB.  If I want a true once in a generation mobile QB, then I take Cam all day.  He's already very good, and has the potential to be a Michael Jordan type player.

What does being smart have to do with being a good QB? Wasn't Buffalo Bills ex-QB extremely smart?

Fitzpatrick is extremely intelligent and I agree I think RG 3 is the smartest of the bunch too.

In all honesty, I think those in the media are to quick to anoint some of these QBs as their  "Choosen QB" only to turn around and have to do everything in their power to convince us that they are the next best thing since.... When it's clear they are not.

 

IMO, Luck is completely void of any real personality. He isn't the next Peyton Manning because the Colts weren't as bad as media wanted us to believe. Peyton made the Colts into the team they were before he was fired. Luck seems to be more managing the Colts more so than taking charge the way Peyton was.

 

Also Luck may say all the right things in the media but everytime he opens his mouth I keep hearing that Cartoon Character Hugo the Abominable Snowman from the Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck cartoon saying: " Which way did he go George...DUH"

 

Now Russel, I like him. He has a personality and seems very down to earth.
