Good post, Phil.

My only disagreement is I don't think Jerry's commitment to win is 'newfound'.  People that have worked with him would tell you he's always wanted to win.  I'd say he just hasn't done very well at knowing how to make it happen.

Having Gettleman around should be a huge plus on that front.

WOW PhillyB! I feel like I just read a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was that good. It was the most articulated, thought-provoking and intelligent posts I have ever read on this forum. It is so refreshing to read something that doesn't butcher the English language, or tries to disguise a sentence as an acronym or some type of internet slang. I don't know what you do for a living but you definitely excel at composing and delivering a coherent piece of literature.

Homerific or not this is one of the best posts I've seen all season. It makes me nervous when people start talking about being 5-2 going into the Atl game. Looking too far ahead like that is never productive. However, love the optimism. Love the commentary about individual players.

The real test now is to see if the team sits back enjoying the big win or if they focus and bear down while preparing for AZ. the Cardinals are not a bad team and we have to travel to another time zone. No game is a gimme and we may even have to play better that we did last week in order to get this win.

Fantastic Post PhillyB!

Sunday gave us a lot of hope. There were some great signs.  Now we have the bye week to get healthy and hopefully prepare.  I hope that Rivera and Co. have learned some lessons from the first three weeks on what it takes to win and what will allow us to lose.

Great thread!  I still love that picture of JR and think it needs to be repeated every game for the team!

we're not very good coming off of byes under rivera, but i think you could make the case that we're a much, much, much better team both in terms of talent and cohesiveness than we've been in the past two years.

also remember carson palmer has the athleticism of an oak tree and our defensive line seems to play much better against in-pocket quarterbacks than mobile ones (who doesn't?) i think we win big and people start paying attention.

also their first round pick cooper (OL) is out. their o-line has been suspect
