First win after a Cam INT

Argus Plexus

Recommended Posts

Cam played better, but the defense won this game.

Meh.

The offense helped the defense out with multiple scoring drives, many of them long and demoralizing to the Giants.

You'd have a point if the offense hadn't score like, 38 points.  But meh.  This was a full team effort and I dislike any attempt to claim one side of the ball or the other "won" the game, because when you hang 38 on a team your offense is balling, and when you shut out a team, your defense is balling, so when you dismantle a team the way we did, let's just give credit to both of the units equally and say the team won this game.

Agreed. Though I'm not terribly surprised MHS isn't willing to give the offense much credit. He's gone out of his way to not even bring up or revisit all the silliness he passionately typed about Cam leading up to the game.

How many points did the offense have to score to win the game?  Did the defense create points off turnovers?  If the created more than 1, then they won the game.   If the offense did not need to score 38 points, then the offense did not win the game by scoring 38;   While the 38 points was impressive, it did not win the game--the defense did.  The reason the offense scored 38 was due to the defense giving them multiple chances and field position.  Any person of average intelligence knows that.

If a baseball team scores 10 runs but their pitcher throws a no-hitter, are you going to credit the offense for winning the game?  You are just trolling.

Anyone who types Meh in a response is a dxxx anyway.

Red, you are clueless, and if you ever agreed with a point I made, it would embarrass me to a point where I would re-examine my position.

Anyone who does not think the defense won the game is probably accustomed to missing obvious points in other aspects of their lives, so I am not going to explain the simple logic to someone who lacks the ability to grasp it.

Scoring on 6 of our first 8 possessions always helps.

It was a team win. Why are we making it defense vs. offense?

Some of you guys are people that could get laid by the hottest girl at the bar but still be dissapointed because she had a freckle on her butt.

I'll stop you right there... It doesn't matter how many points the offense "had to score to win the game.  What matters is how many points the offense did score.

How many points did the defense need to give up so our offense could win?

Neither your question nor mine are related at all to what happened in reality, because if we start playing what ifs we have no idea how the game would have gone.

You can claim we'd have won with 2 3 or 10 but you have no fuging clue.  Know why?  If all those scoring drives stall in one way or another, you give the Giants more time, and more hope.  Who knows what happens in that case.  Just because the defense pitched a shutout in a blowout doesn't mean it would have pitched a shutout in a close game.  We have no way of knowing.

Ah yes, instead of actually trying to man up and backup all that drivel you spewed, you resort to insults.

So not only are you a coward, you are a hypocrite. Dually noted.

There are certain people here who think it is there place to blast anyone who comes close to saying something critical of their favorite player.  Heck, the closest the Giants came to scoring was off a turnover--but the defense stuffed that.  I think our defense won that game in the first quarter.  The demoralized the Giants..  The rest was fluff.  They deserve credit for taking the Giants out early.  There is nothing wrong about thinking that, in fact, if you know football, you would have to agree.  It was lopsided and obvious.

Or you could argue that it was the first drive of the second half that finally broke them.

17 points looks a lot more achievable that 24

But both sides did a great job.

4 of our TD drives were 60 yards or longer.

It was a team effort. Doesn't have to be one or the other

The closest the Giants came to scoring was on a turnover.  And it does not matter how many points the offense scored if the Giants were shutout, as long as the number was one.

Anyone who watched this game would agree that the defense deflated the Giants early--the game was technically over in the first quarter.   Hell, the only time they nearly scored was after an interception.  We win the game if the offense played like it did vs. Buffalo and Seattle.  I can;t tell if your problem is due to a lack of math skills or football acumen. Either way, I prefer to argue with intelligent people who do not attack other's opinions as if their's is the only one.  That is a sign of a troll or a fool. Or both.
