Using Players Properly - Collective Coaching

I thought it was interesting how RR mentioned in his press conference about Shula taking input from the offensive coaches, Skipper et al.

This marks the difference between Chud and Shula. While Chud may be the superior offensive mind. Shula wants to put players where they're comfortable.

DWill on pitches with the read option (not in the middle where he is not comfortable on the read option). Tolbert and Cam on short yardage (not DWill like week 1). More designed runs for Cam. Ginn on go routes and reverses. Steve Smith lined up in different spots.

We'll see how it ends up, but it appears Shula is learning (through input from his fellow coaches) exactly how to use our personnel.

I said last week that the Panthers would win and Shula would actually put together a good gameplan. That is his history, out of no where his offense will have a great game and give everyone hope. In the past it was followed by a let down. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and thats not the case this year. I am cautiously optimistic he can string a few good game plans together.

Well, its either that or he's going to be looking for another job next year.  Great game planning needs to become a habit for him.

Here's to hope!  Right now, it's a refreshing beverage!

Most positive thing I think you have said about Shula.

By the way...am still in awe of some of your game pics.

Yesterday was the first game I had no complaints with the offense.  Of course 38-0 makes it easy, but the fact that we used Cam as a duel threat, and ran some options and mixed in short, medium, and deep passes...theres no wonder we put up 38 pts.

Our D is legit.  Our O used to carry us.  We finally put a full game together and look what happened.

Rivera's Job depends on it. If we lose games after this bye we are in for a world of hurt at the end. It will not be like last year.

As much grief as I gave them after Buffalo, I got to hand it to the coaches, they stepped up and corrected a lot of the stuff I felt they were doing wrong.

Kept Beason off the field, played to Cam's strengths, went for it on 4th down when appropriate... I was slightly impressed.

Will be even more impressed if it continues.
