Oh please, I'm a Newton fanatic but even I know he's got to improve his mechanics in order to be more consistent in the pocket. A QB shouldn't be throwing off his back foot -- likely a reason why Cam tends to overthrow.

I don't care what Luck does quite honestly. He's not my QB. Ima let Colt fans worry about Andrew living up to Peyton's legacy (which he won't).

If by "old ways" you mean I'm not so blinded by love for ANY one player as to completely ignore their faults then you're right.

A guy I have passionately supported since his name was called in Radio City Music Hall. A guy I've continuously defended on here and other boards.

A guy, who despite his greatness, still has things that he needs to improve upon.

Wipe his jiz off your chin and accept he isn't perfect and isn't as good as he's going to get, yet.

I've been back on what? Cam's fallibility? I've been on that since we drafted him, just like every other player we have. I'm not a nut hugger so it's not an issue for me to point out that a player isn't perfect. I'm not too jaded by fandom to realize that he makes mistakes, has room for improvement and is simply lacking in some areas. It's not that I support him any less, it's just the realization that he's still growing.

 

If you, or the rest of the fanboys can't see it that's not my problem.

There is a difference between popping into a thread and offering legitimate insight into our quarterback or any other player, versus entering like Squirrel and dropping what you perceive to be witty one liners and leaving.

i didn't give him pie for the jizz comment.

 

i gave him pie because i remember very well arguing with him and several others prior to cam getting drafted and at at one point either JOAT or i made some silly little bet (maybe an avy or sig bet) whether or not we would draft him. i was sure we would and wanted it. i forgot about it until he reminded me after the draft and said i won. i laughed a bit because i really didn't remember anything about it and since i didn't remember and didn't care, i let him off the hook, but the reason i did so wasn't because he was saying it was a mistake that we drafted him, because he didn't say that. the reason i let him off the hook was because he said that even tho he didn't like the pick, cam was now his QB so he was now going to respect the pick and support his QB and i've seen nothing since that point that says any different.

 

pointing out a flaw doesn't show a lack of respect or support for a player.

 

i believe that people can change their minds about things and i don't have a problem with it. we all do it. it's called growth and progress. if you don't ever change your mind about something then you've got issues.

 

most people who argued about the cam newton pick have got on board with it. i don't have a problem with them doing it and i don't have a problem with them pointing out deficiencies.

 

i just think it's funny that people hang on like a pit bull to people's past when those people have moved on. seems like everyone should be able to because more than likely they have moved on from something before themselves.

I am so happy that Cam hasn't forgotten how the media treated him during his days at Auburn. Now the media reacts like a spurned ex, talking mad poo about Cam while praising scumbags like RGKnee and offering the likes of Ray Lewis a job.
