Cam can't read defenses- Cam Newton Presser

I think we all know why.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it. Part of it is racism and the negative perception the media puts around Cam. How everything is his fault, all he can do is run, leadership issues blah blah blah. ESPN wants Luck to be the golden boy, Wilson to be Brees 2.0, and RG 0&3 to be the signature black QB. Where does that leave Cam? The bad guy that causes problems.

I literally wanted to throw up reading the article comparing the young QBs. One stat compared their intelligence. How the fug does anyone know how smart they are? Mark Sanchez might be a fuggin  genius but a shitty QB. No one knows that kind of thing and having the audacity to speculate it in a professional article is ridiculous.

But I'll say this.  Cam may not have had the amazing QB rating CK and RGIII had their rookie year. But he also has never had play calling that protected him. Everything has been put on the shoulders of Cam to perform day 1. No gimmicks, no retarded motions, no BS pistol formations, no relying on roll outs, just Cam being put in the pocket to set his feet and throw, or take off and make a play. We don't even rely on read option that much and Cam doesn't need it to succeed.

Cam is the real deal and rest are trying to upstage him. Except Wilson, he is actually good.

If I could give you 3-5 pies for this post, I would!!  :thumbsu:  :goodjob:  :thumbsu:

i agree especially the last line. wilson is legit. he is my second favorite qb to watch behind cam, and like cam he just makes plays out of his ass.

Not what I said but I wont disagree.  I think Keekly is HOF bound as long as he stays healthy.

The second play of the game where he made his read, called it out and blew through the los for the tackle was amazing stuff.

did you also see cam call an audible at the line of scrimmage and make the right read for a first down. pretty "amazing stuff"

Cam was definitely calling audibles yesterday.  Saw it multiple times.

Ain't it odd how much better he plays when his coordinator "allows" him to check out of a bad play?  AMAZING!

My concern with Cam has never been his ability to play or read defenses. It's always been the foot work. Allowing Cam to be Cam, which Shula did yesterday, help cover the few flaws he has. Better footwork and I won't have anything negative to say about Cam except that I haven't been invited to his next party.

Same. The only young QB that I would in take in place of Cam, if we couldn't have Cam, is Russell Wilson. He reminds me so much of Drew Brees, except I actually think Wilson will end up being better because he is better with his feet than Brees is. Amazing that Seattle only had to spend a 3rd on him.

he played for the asheville tourists so i have a soft spot for him. He is somewhat of a game manager, but he is a very, very talented game manager.

The throw he made against us on that sideline, although infuriated me at the time, was one of the best throws i've ever seen in my life. he got absolutely leveled on that throw.

I suppose he just has that "it" factor, whatever it may be. Toughness and fearlessness perhaps?

As much as I would love to jump on the they hate him because he's black man mantra...In truthfulness ESPN and those in the sports media, endless attack on Cam's character had more to do with Urban Meyer and less to do with his skin color. .

Remember it was Meyer's Assistance Coach from UF, who was the Cordinator for the MSU football team during that time and wanted Cam to attend MSU. The Agent who enticed Cam's father with money, was an MSU Alumni and was scouting Cam not long after he left UF and while he was attending the smaller college.

It was well documented that Cam's father knew Meyer and the Assistance coach quite well from Cam days at UF. Also, the same Agent was in the news during the whole ESPN created pay-for-play scandal because he was in trouble with the NFL and had a reputation for trying to lurer potentonal young football players to the schools of his choice either by pressuring them or enticing them but ESPN completely ignored that side of the Agent because they were more going after Cam and his father.

It was always suspected that Meyer was the one who sold out Cam and many felt those at ESPN used their power in the media to soil Cam and Auburn because Meyer and Saban were very close to the ESPN family. Those close to the story said that it was Meyer who directed a Sport Writer and well known Auburn hater, to the lap-top story when the writer went looking for dirt on Cam at UF. Meyer quickly denied it when asked by, u guessed it, one of the ESPN Host.

If anyone paid attention to Cam's stat during the 2011 draft, they would have seen that he was/ is a very bright young man who simply lacked throwing experience. Out of all of the QBs from his class, he had the least amount of throwing in experience but he was extremely talented and hardworking.  He achieved quite a bit in a very short period of time after leaving UF. His so call accuracy issues was manufactured and in reality pushed as a way to cover up for the QB who actually did have serious accuracy issues and problems reading defense, Blaine Gabbert.  Those in the sports media who were attacking Cam, knew that but Blaine was their chosen QB of that class after Luck decided not to join the draft that year. So, those at ESPN and NFLN simply played down Blaine's QB issues, while magnifying everything Cam did and turned it into him not being "good enough."
