50% of his total yards came after we were up by 38. On one play when we were up by 38 he gained 25% of his yards on one play.

That is your interpretation and that is fine.  For me he got a bunch of yards when they knew we were going to run and with a questionable line did a great job to seal the deal.  I hope we have a bunch of more Sundays where Williams can run up his yard total well over a 1000 in junk time.  He is still 4th in total yards no matter how he got them. I would think most Panther fans feel the same way.

 

Then again weren't you the one who thought Kuechly was just another Aaron Curry coming out of college.  Your ability to evaluate talent is somewhat tarnished in my book.

true. but they were stacking the box. playing the run. so i would call it close to even or at the very least it wasn't a cakewalk like some are claiming.

bottom line: Dlo isn't as diminished as some are saying  (with the padded stats statements) and he isn't a top 5 RB based on statitics (use the eye test, he is not what he once was). But of course with the Huddle everything is extremes when more often than not it is somewhere in the middle.

 

dlo is an above average runner. still has some explosiveness but isn't as elusive as he once was and frequently gets knocked down as soon as contact comes.  but he still has big play ability. some of that may fall on o-line issues. but just some.

 

he has been solid for us but def not worth the contract.

think about how we were more of a passing/read option team the first two years with Cam as a focal point. It's like somebody else said in another thread, it's almost like rivera chud and marty didn't even discuss before they handed out monster contracts to rbs instead of wrs. which if you are going to run what we have ran in the first 2 years is just mismanagement.

honestly i don't think we knew what we had with Cam. I don't think they realized he would be that prolific of a passer right off the bat and establishing our run game would help a rookie/2nd year qb feel more comfortable. I kind of get that reasoning. But at the very least you knew he had mobility. So signing jonathan  (as much as this kills me to say cause i love the dude) was dumb as hell. really dumb. and it set our future up to fail cap wise to build a balanced team.

 

But the good news is Cam is so good he can still get it done. He still puts us in a position to win way more often than not. It just sucks we didn't invest that money in WR weapons around him. Imagine what he would be like if he trusted another reciever as much as he trusts Smitty. It's scary to think about.

wait till barner and stew get reps along with tolbert. 5 million is still ridiculous. and thats why these contracts are disastrous, because we have 4 rbs who can theoretically produce.

 

This isn't a slam on Dwill, its coaching and managements fault. Dwill when given the opportunity has done everything in his power to live up to his contract. He hasn't gotten the reps and he has shown his age some.

Garbage time please define that......because if we discredit dwill for his "garbage time stats" should we discredit Manning's record setting game against the ravens since the game was pretty much over in the 4th???? Garbage time is a figment of some of you guys imagination......there's no such thing IMO.....if your gonna use this as a argument against dwill please go through ever nfl player that has essentially gotten a sack, a int,a td hell a catch when it's "garbage time" and discredit them have fun.

 If you fail to weight more recent events over the past you also run the risk of ignoring possible trends because you weighted equally a rb's stats from 7-6 years ago equally to the present.
