Sooooo.... DeAngelo Williams......

I hope he does. I am rooting for him to have a monster year. I don't have a problem with the teams success first and his second. The op asked if we should have still traded him and I stand by the fact he should have been traded 3-4 years ago. That's when people get all defensive.

I wasn't talking about the 3 or 4 years ago thing. I read the OP as saying "Deangelo is having a good/decent start to 2013, should we trade him?" seeing as we have no other RB's at the moment and we're still in the playoff hunt that seemed nutty to me. I wholeheartedly agree that Hurney never should have  paid both backs, he should have made a choice. that was stupid. But right now it is good that Deangelo is playing well because we need him to

You read the OP intent on the thread incorrectly then. This was a told you so thread...completely ignoring Dwill being overpaid for a subpar performances for close to a half decade.

I agree that having dwill playing right now the way he is is fantastic for this team and hope he continues to be productive.

Many of us, including me suspected that D-Will would do well as the feature back. He has been solid so far and has the potential to to be a top RB this year.

He has restructured his contract which helps with the cap hit.

I don't understand why people would want to trade him. It's not like you can just plug and play. Yes some teams luck out with an unheard of RB and many don't. Do people want to start Tolbert or pickup some no-name free agent?

lol ok.

Um, that is just fact. Williams had 2 fumbles in his first 500 or so carries. That goes from his rookie year through his peaking in 2008. That was really a great feat.

Just a fact, he fumbles more now. Already has 2 this year. 2 last year. He fumbles now like everyone else. Not fumbling is no longer his trademark.....but as most things go with Williams people like to pretend what he was years ago still applies

Here are some stats for Deangelo's fumbles.

In his group for 2010 to 2012 he is 5th best out of 20 with three fumbles and miles above most below him. J. Stewart in this group is below average with 7 and there are a handful with between 8 and 12, all big names

In the 4 prior years he had 4 total fumbles.

Do people just make up stats to justify whatever silly theory they have?

False. He has 2 fumbles this year. One lost.

fumbles are fumbles. You are just acknowledging the ones he lost....that is he difference. It not being lost is largely luck. Fumbling is fumbling and that is a liability.

You fumble 10 times and luckily only lose 2.....you didn't fumble just twice. You just got lucky on 8 fumbles

Check your reference....use a site that shows fumbles and fumbles lost. Two different stats. Might want to check your info before you call people clueless

No I was missing a receiving fumble in 2013.

Still he is well above average in fumbles, not only the last three years but during his entire career.

The things you are saying are simply false. Go look at the link I provided.
