Oh if you insist.  granted I didn't watch the Jets play as they are not my team.

 

But for as much as Geno threw being a rookie and this being his 3rd regular season game. Going 16 for 29 for 331 yards at 11.4 per completion with 2 TD's and 2 int is actually pretty darn good for a rookie.  Plus his team being 2-1 is just icing on the cake.

Going into today's game Newton was 21st in the league in completion percentage...and this "high" ranking is due to the fact that he only threw 3 passes beyond 10 yards in week one. That is not hyperbole, that is fact.

 

He was barely above 50 percent last week.

He was barely above 50 percent THIS week.

 

He will drop in the league standings after this week...and will probably settle in around 26th or so in the NFL...just where he was at the end of last season.

I agree. I will take it. Carolina's defense is good enough to keep them in every game. Newton really does not have to do much for this team to win a lot of games. A good start would be improving his accuracy, especially in obvious passing situations. The jury is very much still out. We will see.

As i said in another thread, Newton was never the problem. How they are using him is the problem. Let Cam be Cam, which is a dual threat QB. If you force him to stay in the pocket and be a pure pocket passer he will struggle, especially with our weak WR core.

 

Let the man do his thing and we will, believe it or not, win more.

He's currenly sitting at just under 60% completion.

Problem is and always been is some people on this board think the QB can do no wrong.  Do I expect a QB to be perfect no, Do I expect him to learn from his mistakes yes.  Will he make the same mistakes again most likely.  Does that make me a Cam hater no.  But if you act like Cam doesn't make mistakes I will call you out on it.  Cam can be so much better than he is and he should be trying to strive for that every game. Stop making the same mistakes over and over.
