Mike Mitchell's gameplan to beat the Giants: "wait for a fourth-quarter implosion."

Could it be worse than we thought?

Mother of god RR has poo the bed in the 4th quarter so many times he's actually starting to convince his players that waiting for the other team to do it is a viable strategy!!

I'd rather they beat us systematically than some other horrifying way. Right guise?

ron rivera's bullheaded insistence on losing systematically rather than adjusting to the ebb and flow of games to win - sometimes systematically, sometimes unorthodoxly - is why he needs to be fired. this loser cross-your-fingers-and-tug-furiously-at-your-rosary-beads mentality has matriculated down through the ranks of the roster and it's going to turn into a major problem if it isn't fixed.

your team isn't good enough to win systematically, ron, they need a coach who can coach them in a way that masks weaknesses and amplifies strengths.

He puts so much blame on execution I honestly don't think he realizes some of his philosophies are wrong

"execute execute execute" is a great strategy if you have a world-class roster and you think scheme will win out 99% of the time if you just stick to it, but when you have roster weaknesses - like all teams do - it's the role of the coaches to step in and design plans to work around those weaknesses.

buffalo was a case example. your secondary is deeply flawed, so instead of saying "if these deeply awful players just execute we're in good shape" you should say "these deeply awful players probably won't execute because they're deeply awful players, so we should do something that puts the fate of the game in the hands of our not-deeply-awful players instead, system be damned."

still waiting for ron to realize this

And I bet if we lose, after Manning throws 4+ TDs, Rivera will say something like:

"Well, the players were playing too passive and didn't execute. We think we called some really good plays, but at the end of the day the players have to be more aggressive and execute properly."

Like I said we score 21 points by the 4th, we win

Well, see, Rivera thinks the game ends at the end of the 3rd, so if we're up 21-20, he thinks we won.

Even though we'll give up 21 in the 4th and lose.

But moral victories and stuff.
