Are Cam and Rivera adjoined at the hip?

I think the message the OP is trying to convey is that Gettleman could possibly view our HC and QB as one. Perhaps the OP is insuating they are linked together as in they may not be here long but I dont think the OP is saying they ARE LINKED together and should GO as some of you are flaming him for.

First off, I'm completely for the Carolina Panthers not any one individual on the team. I think Cam is an exceptional QB that is inevitably linked to Rivera but I'm certain Gettleman has the knowledge to assign fault for this teams failures and shortcomings and understands that Newton can be successful in this league.

The best comment or question I've seen on our offensive woes was the other day and I don't know who said it so I'm not sure who to give credit to but someone asked "Would you put Manning in a read option offense? ..So why you keep Cam in the pocket?"

The main trouble here is that we don't know the root of the problems because we as a fanbase are kept in the dark about the inner workings of this team and can only speculate.

You see the thing is, it's not just the buffalo game. I was just using that as an example, he's had plenty of games where he just predetermines who he wants to throw to. Doesn't read the field consistently

He played well against Seattle, even with some very bad drops from our receivers.

Let's look into why Steve Smith and Greg Olsen are his favorite targets. We've got Lafell who is in a contract year and getting outplayed by Ginn. We've got Hixon who can't even get on the field and AE who barely gets any snaps.

Hey but it's all Cam's fault though. Why can't he just throw it to himself, am I right?

Lol you can choose to be blind to it but I'm just saying you can't stare down receivers in this league. A bit troubling considering the progress he made near the end of last year. Hope he gets better though

So you totally bypass what I said and don't even address it, yet I'm the one who is blind? Makes perfect sense.

Honestly, I could see a scenario where Gettleman grabs a QB in the middle rounds like the Glennon-Freeman situation down in Tampa. Especially with how deep the QB class is this year.

Cam is not as untouchable as everyone thinks. Will we abandon him after this year? No. But if we get him weapons and he still struggles his time will be running out.

There's been plenty of people who have watched film of these first couple weeks and said he's had lafell and other receivers running open and he ignores them and throws to smitty or Olsen. He doesn't seem to see the field well to me, maybe he's just lost confidence in them I don't know.

Lafell isn't giving Cam any reason to have confidence in him. Not when he's getting outplayed by Ginn.

Failure of the passing offense is a collaborative effort, not blaming all on cam but he does have a part in it. Not trying to get into a pissing match

Of course he has a part in it, he's the quarterback. But it's up to our coaches to formulate a gameplan that fits his strengths too. We didn't do that against Buffalo. Especially with how our o line was performing out there.

Cam was off, but he settled in when we finally got rid of the play calls that took years for routes to develop.

We needed to run a bit more against buffalo, takes pressure off the oline and cam. Buffalo was just teeing off early because we were passing over and over, the pass rush slowed down once we started running the ball more

“If you want to put an explosive quarterback on the field, you have to go to the zone read. You’re not going to be able to say, ‘We’re going to make you a pocket passer.’ I think that’s what playing into more than anything else.”

Because of a higher demand for instant-success quarterbacks out of college, teams have had to adjust, or sometimes completely overhaul, their offenses to fit a quarterback. Where a team could hone the talents of a pro-style quarterback like Rodgers for a few years on the sideline, the NFL landscape doesn’t afford clubs that option as often anymore.

The zone-read option has dominated college football in recent years with several players coming to the NFL after 2-4 years in that system. If a team is looking for its quarterback to have an easy transition while also making a fast impression, former Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski laid out the blueprint with Newton in 2011.

its 2 fuging games. I still dont no how Cam is not entitled to have a bad game where ever other QB can screw up over and over again. Its like he has to prove himself all over again every single game. That is the definition of not being appreciative of what he does when the team is already bad to begin with. Name one game we have won despite Cam and not because of him. There are only a handful of qbs in the league that are consistent every week while the rest arent and they have been groomed to play QB way more than Cam has.
