Greg Cosell: Cam has no consistency

Oh yeah...Wilson is lucky to have a receiving core of Golden Taint and a one legged Sidney Rice to bail him out. Face facts, Cam can't see open receivers and if he does, they appear to be ten yards further up the field. At least Wilson throws balls that receivers can come back to, maybe if we strap rockets to our receivers asses they will catch the apparently perfect and beautifully thrown balls flown in from our very own Cam Newton.

He also has a very good Oline and Lynch...you think that does not matter?

Does Newton need to improve, yes, can he, who knows but he is far and away not the main issue with this team.

I've gotten sick and tired of the Cam bashing.

The other difference is the coaches in Seattle design plays TO Wilson's strengths.

In 6 short games, between Rivera and Shula and god knows if Gettleman's involved, Newton, the best player on the offense has been neutered and a non-factor.

...that's some damned brilliant coaching there.

Cam's also made throws and had them dropped.  This is the nature of the game.  The previous game, Olsen dropped two completions that would have probably given the team at least 3 points and 50 yards.

Meanwhile, our offense has been run at a terrible tempo with what seems like no adjustments made in game...

I'm not saying he should be perfect but  a few of those passes were gimmies.

But I'm not one of the people who's putting this all on Cam

Yes a couple were, you're right there.  Cam is not playing perfect.  He's got things to improve on.

but a lot is being made of his passing ability being insufficient despite the fact he has, what, 8000+ passing yards and 40 some TDs?  This doesn't mean he's perfect, but people say things like "in order to be a QB in this league, you have to do x and y and Cam doesn't!" or something.  Cam's been, and is, a good quarterback...

meh.  just tired of the "poo on Cam" bandwagon that sometimes seems far too full around here.

In the Seahawks game Cam looked like Alex Smith... efficient but he didn't take any deep shots and just played safe ball.

Against Buffalo the play calling got dialed up to retard status and we went deep way too much.

That said, Cam overthrew Ginn how many times? 2? 3? And smitty once or twice? He didn't look very good at all against Buffalo and it's difficult to separate play calling from decision making.

Honestly?  It looked like it wasn't just Cam with his head not in the Buffalo game.  Looked that way for other players on offense, too.

Let's suppose that were true. How can they prove it? Does Cam have the weapon around him to conclude he has accuracy and consistency issues? What about the level of consistency of the players around him, that doesn't play any role at all? Really! No highly drafted offensive player other than Cam the last 3 years. For crying out loud! Cam need to find his way out of this organization as quick as possible. They're setting him up for failure and it's so fugging obvious. Give the fugging guy a chance to succeed at least. Fug!

We've drafted one starter for the offense since we drafted Cam in 2011. One.
