Greg Cosell: Cam has no consistency

well, his QB coach left him for a better paying gig.

shula should have stayed as his QB coach and the team should have hired a different OC.

i thought having shula as his OC was supposed to be better for him.

but hey....at least cam is learning how to be a game manager and he's also learning how to throw into a bucket.

...no OC wanted to come here given the situation with a new GM and, well, Rivera..

Sure going after Norv Turner was being cheap.

Well if Cam would throw the ball to the other receivers maybe they would be.  Just like how Ginn scored in Buffalo.

I don't recall us ever interviewing or reaching out to Norv.

Ginn is stepping up, I like what he brings. Who else is there after that? Lafell is actually getting outplayed by Ginn at this point and he's in a contract year. Hixon can't get on the field. Armanti, who knows what he's doing.

So that's essentially, Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, and Ted Ginn, who is also our returner by the way.

I would really like to see us utilize Tolbert more, not just running either.

Nor would Carolina trade Cam for Wilson.

I don't think any of the teams with good young QBs would trade them.  The upside on all these guys is too high.

I wouldnt go that far. To me this is Cam prove it year,  I don't expect to see a contract extension for Cam until after next season.  I can see Seattle extending Wilson after this season if the team goes to the playoffs.    You can have all the records as a rookie and 2nd year QB but if you cant get your team a win during the game you are pretty useless.

Cam has to take a fair share of blame. He's messed up a lot, put us in bad situations, made bad reads and throws, But he's still young.

A lot of this falls on coaching and the supporting cast too. Look at what good coaches and cast do for someone like Vick or Alex Smith. Coaches who play to your strengths and build around it. Teammates who help you and support you and bail you out when you do have those bad moments (EX: Baldwin's miracle catch against us.)

If you think Cam doesn't have talent to lay QB in the NFL, and be an exceptional one at that, then you're blind and spiteful.

Personally, I don't understand why QBs like Stafford and Bradfor get passes for playing poorly until they et good to decent suing casts, or QBs like RGIII and Manning get passes for playing poorly, but Cam takes all the flack all the time for everything that goes wrong.

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he reached out to Norv Turner regarding the team's offensive coordinator position before Turner opted to become the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator. "He and I did talk. We talked about the opening. One thing he told me was he had a lot to think about," Rivera said. "I had heard that (Browns CEO) Joe Banner called him directly during that whole process. That's the hard part because you don't know when or what went on in that conversation."
