Greg Cosell: Cam has no consistency

I have never seen an inconsistent passer who doesn't see the field have this much success throwing the ball in the NFL in their first two seasons. Mainly because no one has had this much success.

But I have seen a bunch of "big men with big arms" completely suck in the NFL.

Keep calling him an expert if you want. He sounds like an idiot to me.

Oh yeah...Wilson is lucky to have a receiving core of Golden Taint and a one legged Sidney Rice to bail him out. Face facts, Cam can't see open receivers and if he does, they appear to be ten yards further up the field. At least Wilson throws balls that receivers can come back to, maybe if we strap rockets to our receivers asses they will catch the apparently perfect and beautifully thrown balls flown in from our very own Cam Newton.

 

He most certainly is lucky to have Rice, Baldwin, and Kearse and not LaFell, Hixon, and Edwards.

Its reality. I wished Cam and the team were better than what we see out there on Sundays but they are not. I see no magic bullet that makes this team better this season.

My prediction is that Cam will set a record for getting coaches fired trying to make a QB out of him.

Man, before this season I would have agreed with you but there's no way in hell anyone would prefer Cam over Wilson or Kaepernick at this moment in time.

You don't have the most passing yards of any qb in their first two years by not knowing how to throw the damn football.

Eli has easily been one of the worst qbs this season but you don't hear poo about it.

I've worried in the past about Newton becoming a victim of the 'David Carr Effect'.

Whatever potential Carr had to be a great quarterback was largely beaten out of him because 1) the Texans did a horrible job developing him 2) playing behind a bad offensive line effectively erased whatever progress he'd had by reinforcing the bad habits he'd revert to when he was under constant pressure and 3) too much was asked of him too soon.

There comes a point where he's not just hurting now, but actually ruined for the long term.

I don't want to see us reach that point :(
