I think Cam will be fine.. I hope we stick with him.  I think we need to let him do what he does best.. what did he do that Heisman year... He needs freedom to take off when he wants.. He can pick up first downs all the way up the field.... by himself if you let him go..BUT I know that equates into broken down QB...but that is what Cam is... You didnt see him passing up and down the field at Auburn. Now, we found out he is pretty good at passing.. not great, so let him do what they did with Wilson from Seattle..roll him out and let him take off and be smart. He is not a pocket passer.. The worst coaches try to fit players into their "systems".. great coaches change to meet the talents of their players.. Just my .02...

This is one of the more embarrassing threads we've had in a while as far as quality of our fanbase goes. Then again I refused to read the last 20 page thread of know-nothing Cam haters who crawl out of the woodwork after every loss.

 

U are so right. I have never seen such nonsense in my life. Some on here just simply sit and over analyze everything Cam does to make their and the Cam haters in the media, argument that he isn't a good QB. In the meantime, they sit and tell Cam to do his best with the dysfunctional team you folks gave him.

 

Even worst is, these lazy ass folks in the media are now reading these sites and using the same silly Cam criticisms they pushed from the Combine and many on here swallowed and is always regurgitated, as their "new" analysis of Cam. And once again,  the Wannabe Mike Mayocks of this site buy into the BS because it's "exactly what they have been saying."

 

One simply can't be that stupid. But I guess one can when one wants to believe their own small minded thinking and views. Some on here simply make the jobs of those in the media quite easy to do when it comes to Cam and this team.

Why does Cam get a pass from 90% of this forum? Is it because we don't want to believe he might not be a franchise QB?

This is an objective analysis not based in emotion or veiled racism like so many members of the national media.

I have concerns about him. It's year 3 and he still hasn't shown the ability to be a game breaking player. Yes he can make amazing plays on occasion due to freakish athletic ability but guys like Rodgers, Brady and Manning can simply take over a game regardless of how well a defense is playing. Too often Cam will disappear for long stretches of a game or even many consecutive games before he reappears.

I think the verdict is still out on him. I'm not convinced he's the QB to lead us into the future yet. I don't think gettleman is either.

 

What is a Franchise QB? Judging from what I see on tv, it's quite a subjective title. My question to you is, are your concerns legit or simply prejudged sucritny of Cam. From what I've seen, and I watch a lot of Football, Cam is no different than Russel, Colin, Luck, nor RG. IMO, I think some of you folks simply love to worry and not really give these players a chance.

IMO, the difference between Luck and Cam is: One was handed a title straight out of college, was NEVER scrutinized and doesn't have to prove he hdeserve to be a starting QB and the other one was scrutinized endlessly without cause and told he has to prove himself as a QB. I see that as not only discrimination quite subjective in nature.

those three guys you mentioned along with brees are in a league of there own. yet despite being franchise qbs, not any of these qbs where in the superbowl last year.

Giving cam a few very quick high percentage passes once in a while would help.

 

Giving him a bunch of worthless passing plays that take 5 seconds to develop is killing his career.

 

 

When the season is over Cam needs another couple months with Weinke in Florida and come back to OTA's when a legit offensive coaching staff is in place.

I would stick with just a playoff appearance at first for a "franchise qb" Luck did it last year with a terrible O-line and no running game.

Since we don't know for sure at this point how much the craptastic coaching has affected him I'm willing to give him a year with a new staff but right now I'm highly skeptical that it's year 3 and he still doesn't seem to have the ability to win a game by throwing the ball.
